Great to have you aboard Tim! Will Jill be joining us on the golf course? I'm thinking that 9 holes might make the most sense since it will be the start of a long day that goes to "Midnight" (Pun intended). If we start early Chevy Chase CC will fit us in amongst the designated Tee Times on the back 9. If it's for 18 we might not be able to start until after 10 AM and it would probably take at least 4 hours which pushes lunch into mid-afternoon. We could play at a different course but Chevy Chase is very close and a great course and "Midnight" has had many concerts in the ballroom. Al Capone had an illegal speakeasy there during prohibition and it has escape tunnels under the clubhouse. Buzzenator is bringing his clubs and Mrs. Buzz. It's looking less likely that a friday Cubs game will work for anyone if the game starts at 1:10, but heading to Chicago's Lakefront may still work in the evening and it could be timed to pick up some Ohare arrivals on the drive down there.

While my wife likes to play in charity scrambles she said this trip she would like to pass on the golf. For me 9 holes would be just fine. We would love to participate in the evening Lakefront event and would taxi anyone to or from the event or airport. I am sure you have heard this a lot but I would like to say thank you for taking the time to arrange all the events and sharing you home with everyone.

Thanks Tim. I'm a natural born planner and I thrive on this stuff. On a message board that I used to be active on since 2002, I planned 3 annual nationwide meet & greet & play weekend parties and they all were very successful. Actually they were international with Canadians also involved in the fun-filled weekends. There's good and bad (lack of surprises) about having everything planned in advance but I'm not one to enjoy sitting around arguing "What should we do next?" and then end up being bored when nobody can agree. I've eased my wife into the weekend concept and she may actually be getting excited about it (as long as I do the house prep stuff) she loves a good party as she is more of a socializer than I am and she's starting to accept that some people are even more obsessed than I am!

All kidding aside...there's no guarantee she will cooperate. Although, she loves Haley's music, she doesn't publicly acknowledge it...what's with that?

I'm sure Mrs. Buzz is gonna have a great time! We're all just normal people with a common interest.
Maybe I'm a little naive, but I just love the concept of talking with people like you guys online, and then actually getting to meet some of you. And everyone I've met that has been associated with Midnight band and friends of the Reinharts couldn't be nicer.
As for Mr. Babbs, he likes Haley and understands why I like her so much, but I'm afraid he may start suggesting how HE could make her better and what she is doing wrong with her music etc......he thinks he is trying to help butttt I think I'm leaving him at home.

to set all this up for us!!! I can't thank you enough! Reminds me of my brother in law, who always sets up all the activities on vacation. When we went to Las Vegas with him one year, besides strolling thru town, I think we rode every roller coaster in town, visited Red rock canyon, and Hoover Dam etc. Made for a very fun time.
Himm , will your wife be home for the Labor day festivities? You suggested before she may be out of town.

^^ She hasn't vocally committed yet but I can see a glimmer of yearning in her eyes for the Haley Concert and she probably doesn't think I can pull of the Biggest, Most Memorable Party we've ever had at our house without her help, so I think she's on board for those two things anyway. Probably nothing else however.

I'll be removing the Cubs game option from the signup list since that timing won't seem to work and I only watch the worthless Cub$ when there is nothing else on TV. I am however encouraging as many as possible to play at Navy Pier on Chicago's Lakefront on Friday night. My car that seats 4 or 5 can take 3 or 4 (if 2 people have skinny butts) passengers will probably leave my driveway at about 3 PM hoping to arrive & park at Navy Pier by about 4:30. Maybe Tusk & Yanni can join us later down there if we decide not to spend the bucks for a lakefront dinner cruise. The ferris wheel on Navy Pier gives a glorious view of the city and there is a fun minigolf course that we can practice for Sunday on. Sounds like Steve, Dave, Kathy, Tim & Jill will be making that trip.
I think in honor of the fact that Forrest Gump (Tom Hanks) voted for Haley Reinhart that Bubba Gump's would be more fun than a dinner cruise even if I can get a discount because my bro-in-law used to be part owner of the Odyessy, Mystic Blue, & Seadog Cruise lines and his daughter is still a manager there.
I'm likely purchasing a used Karaoke machine to link into my party multimedia system today on ebay and I just hope I don't break the thing when I practice my Captain Dinken's "Haley yell" into it.
