Those expecting the release of the long-awaited EP anytime soon I'm afraid will be waiting quite a bit longer. Harry told me Saturday it's still a ways off as rarely do these releases happen fast. I also know just before leaving for New Zealand she was back in the recording studio doing some more mixing...so no manufacture of an EP has started yet.

I think it is best for it to wait and simmer a bit. I would like to see it released after the Bill Burr show hits the airwaves (hopefully to great reviews) and AI is full into their last season. I assume that they will not be ignoring Haley this season and she will appear with her new single Better.

So much for a summer release! Lol someone predicted around Thanksgiving…sounds about more right.

YIKES!! I can't believe this thread started last October and we still don't know when the EP will be released. I thought it would be faster to make an EP... isn't that the theory?
This timeline doesn't seem normal to me...but I am no insider. Hopefully it's not a signal of unforeseen difficulties and it will be released at some point by Ole.

If there's any difficulty it isn't between Haley and Ole, Haley favorited Ole's retweet of my tweet about "Better"'s debut on BGDays. Anders was back in LA a few days ago, definitely for production reasons....
It hasn't been talked about, but "Better", the first single of the EP has had a change in how it's performed now. Haley's had 2 years to work with the song that will first represent her sophomore effort and maybe she, or whomever has say, might've decided that the way she had been ending it, wasn't what they wanted.
When she performed it w/ Anders, "Better"'s co writer at Room 5, was when they first ended "Better" differently, they ended it the same way at the Troubadour too...
So I think we can guess that Better might be one of the songs that's getting reworked

Perhaps it was slowed because Haley wanted to include at least one of the songs that were new this spring.
In this day and age the slowness of the process doesn't make sense. Very old school.
PMJ is at the other end of the spectrum: since the start of this thread he has recorded and released more than 40 songs with about 20 different lead singers and many band members. Scott has released four full length albums including a Christmas album, as well as a vinyl record.
All of his recordings are also released as music videos that are simple and inexpensive. Again, an approach that is much different than the high production style of, say, the SMYM video. Three of Haley's PMJ videos - all released this year - have more views than the Vevo video of "Free" which was released more than three years ago.
Haley wants something for the ages, but there must be a middle path to follow. All of this production for the EP costs money. Any promotional activities also cost money. Given all the time and energy in this EP project I sure hope that some of the recordings/productions are kickass. But watching this EP process is feels being in a time machine (traveling back).

John, I agree that next to PMJ the Ole speed (or lack of) seems especially slowwwww. After all the positive comments after the main EP recording sessions it seemed that surely the EP would be released by now.
I am still very puzzled why they are so set on 'Better' as the centerpiece since it was first performed so long ago (not exactly a fresh new sound) and the vids have never gotten a big response. I know it was written at an Ole song camp and it makes for good Ole PR, but IMO not a good enough reason to put on the EP.
The good news for Haley & her fans is that the PMJ collaboration has resulted in a very productive and entertaining year. IMO Scott has really set the bar high regarding how to best showcase Haley's sound and style.
