Angie didn't have too use excuses or God. She could get where she wanted without it. That's the nice thing about people voting for talent.
Despite the non chemistry with the judges..and for me..the lack of a Haley (someone who I really really root for) this season was really great in a lot of ways. (Granted, I've only had six of those...and 2 were in season 8 and 2 were in season 11).
Outstanding top 5. Best 3 contestants all season in top 3. Best two singers top 2. It was really nice to see fans get it right based on finding the best singer.
IMO, they would have gotten it right tonight, based on performances had it been Angie and Candice. But still...as someone who loves great voices..and who loves idol because of getting to see people who are "pure talent.." It's nice to see it succeed.

Does anyone remember back in season 6 when Seacrest "gave away" the results? He said after the break "Melinda goes home" and he meant they would show her homecoming video but she really did go home! Her face was so funny!

Even though Candice is my favorite I would like to give an observation about Kree. If you go to MJs you will find some videos of Kree when she was quite young before her parents died. She was on the Rosie O'Donnell Show and she was a little spitfire. She had personality galore as well as singing talent. No doubt the passing of both her parents devastated her and her pain is palpable in this AI performance:
Kree deserves her finale spot...but it probably breaks her heart that her mom and dad are not here to witness this accomplishment.

I wonder if Melinda thought it was funny?

Speaking of, shame on the producers for having Kree sing that Band Perry song. (WTF) I think Nicki caught it...but seriously..there pick was more thoughtless than their pick for Jessica last season.

Still-if we're talking about the voting power of rural-southern-western America -if I had to bet against her I'd probably have a hard time doing it.Candice may need a knockout punch to win this.
No, Candice WILL require a knockout punch.
From the outset of the announcement of the Top 10, I have been preparing myself for Candice's exit at #3. I knew, at the outset, she had the best voice, she was laying out the best stuff, but -- well, there are those biases (do I need to state them, particularly how well Nicki Minaj "laid it out" the week before Amber's ouster?).
And, this country doesn't really seem to appreciate really good talent -- or truly good music, for that matter except in limited pockets (and, of course, you all think you're within those pockets).
So, I'm astonished -- and, again, thrilled -- at tonight's results.
Well-it'll be an interesting voting split/demographic.I'm not an Angie fan although I can't deny that she's talented but trying to look at it objectively I thought she finished stronger than Kree for the last few shows at least from what I experienced-and from the general feedback from the judges who were pretty hard on Kree. And on that basis I would have though Angie would be in the final. But in the real-Idol voting-world I can't forget what it felt like rooting for Haley two years ago-which felt a little like she was going up a two headed monster going into the final three.

Look who's all grown up...Lauren looked about 23, not 18, tonight. She really was cute and funny, along with sounding so mature.
I have no feel for the pulse of America...every time I like someone on Idol, they leave early. Of course Haley is the poster child for Idol contestants that should not have gone home...America doesn't listen to me. I'm the only one that really listens to me, so I enjoy talking to myself.
I know what I like, it just isn't the same as the Southern voting block. We all march to the beat of a different drummer on this forum, and cast our more insightful vote for the One...the one and only Haley Reinhart. I feel good about that vote, which makes me feel good about myself.

Odd that I got my photo taken with Lauren Alaina but I've never taken one with Haley Reinhart:

The Sox hat that I'm wearing has been autographed by Haley & Harry Reinhart as well as Gina Glocksen (Idol S6) but not by the then 16 year old Lauren. I have Lauren's "Wildflower" album and might by her new one (although I wasn't fond of the song she sang last night)
