Here's one for Haley and Irvin
Doing Ella and Louis Armstrong (I guess you could let Casey sing Louie's part --- but i'd prefer him mostly on the base..... don't let him sing the whole Louis part.. switch quickly back to Haley... or give us more Irvin!
Perfect!

Looked at the pricing for air and hotel, this morning... not bad, not much more than I spent for Chicago. Stayed in Chicago 2 days longer than I will in NY, but, not as bad as I was thinking it might be....

You should send Haley the bill... it's not your fault she's so damn awesome.

I wonder if there will be a chance for a 'meet and greet' opportunity before or after the show?....
Starting to sound like a pretty 'high class' affair.... I'm not sure I have the type of wardrobe that would be appropriate enough there.... Might have to pick something up just to wear there too.

Ask the Buzz if you can borrow one of the shirts I've given him.
Oh ya, thanks for posting that Louis/Ella song Tom. I couldn't agree more, it would be a great one for the show. It's a keeper

I wonder if Irvin Mayfield.. being a prime Troubadour of New Orleans, goes out with "The Saint Go Marching In ?"
If so, this beauty Jewel Brown shows what a girl can do with it ! But if given the chance Haley better not upstage the star Irvin Mayfield the way Jewel try’s to take the stage from Satchmo
Check this one out:
If Irvin Mayfield is going to let Haley sing more than one or two numbers, I very tempted to get a flight to NY to hear it . I can stay with relatives. (but still I can't justify it without a windfall soon)
We really don't know if Haley will get more than a couple chances with the mic. Dee Dee Bridgewater (that isn't her in pic ... I didn't post a video of Bridgewaters) is the top billed vocalist and a Jazz Vocalist of very high regard for decades. All of her you-tube performances seem to be "high" jazz ... where jazz went on its journey to almost intellectual constructs ... but I've got to think she's grew up with the standards and can sing the heck out of them in any style she chooses.

Another awesome clip! And I too seriously doubt Haley would step higher than invited by Mayfield (as already displayed in New Orleans when she joined him for, “Momma May Have”). And I seriously agree that she could "sing the heck" out of the old jazz standards

Is Mayfield's expectation that Haley and Casey will perform a duet? Or separate numbers? Both?
Haley could kill any number of old jazz standards but her repertoire will be limited if she's only doing a duet.

Not that I've been there, but I have traveled quite extensively and I think more inquiry into the dress code, enforced or expected, is in order for those attending Carnegie Hall in New York.
I'm originally from Arizona where blue jeans and a T-shirt get you into anywhere. But I have eaten dinner near my hotel in Washington, D.C., where someone at the table next to me felt compelled to tell me I was dressed like 16 going on 40.
The seating looks different but the caption was NOJO at carnegie hall
