. I think the fans in LA have many more opportunities to see her than I do, especially that we get relatively short notice when she performs....Chicago Haliens have a lot of opportunity too, you, Babbs and Himm2 have had quite a few....
What's different with the events I've attended is they are fairly unique and turn out to be personally eventful.
Still extremely grateful and thankful, though

I wanted to relay another story from that night while I wait to board at the airport.
The Gentleman I referred to earlier, who was finally convinced of Haley's talent, that she was worth his attention, (He even got in line with a purchased CD, the hosts sold them for $20...(they could afford it, said my host LOL ) compared it to the time, as a 19 year old, he got a chance to meet Frank Sinatra.
Not only was he impressed with the depth of her vocal and musicality (he was the one most impressed with her duet of L.O.V.E. with Casey, even sang a couple verses
, and loved hearing Night and Day, that night)...on top of that he was very impressed with her the way she held herself and her interactions with people (that he is witnessed this evening).How does this bring up the comparison to Sinatra? As a 19 year old he got the chance to watch Sinatra perform, he sheepishly approached him and asked if he could get an autograph, that he was a fan. Sinatra agreed, (paraphrasing), "Sure kid, after the show, I'll be over there". So after the show he headed to the location. With Sinatra, were the rest of the "Rat Pack", Sammy Davis jr, Joey Bishop, Dean Martin etc....
When he approached Sinatra, the rest of the Rat Pack all went quiet so Sinatra could speak to his fan. He was amazed out how 'down to earth' and 'real' Sinatra was to him, paying attention to him alone (while the pack kept quiet
).That was the thing that struck him about Haley that reminded him of his encounter with Sinatra, that she wasn't this "star" but an obvious talent that still had a realness about them reflected in the way they treated people....
Heady comparison (BTW he was also, my debate 'sparring partner'
, so you see? No hard feelings between us LOL 
)

In regards to Pia, there are no subsequent reports validating that she actually performed at a private event on that date.

I think Miguel, Himm2 and to a smaller extent you, probably understand the 'adjustment' to what and how you post when your 'blogging profile' increases.... When you have info that is shared 'in confidence' that you can no longer post 'what you know' or be 'irresponsible' with what you post.. You've earned trust which means there are potential consequences to what you post... add a sprinkle of social media, like Twitter and those consequences might have real time impact. (see how something can get distorted with the recent 'Haley working with French songwriters' Twitter postings, on a small scale)
I have always tried to be consciencous about what and how I post from the beginning of posting over 2 years ago. That's why if you want to hit my sore spot, all you have to do is 'put words in my mouth' so I have to try to OTT explain myself just to refute it, again and again, combined with my OCD tendencies... ?
Even though most don't know 'who" I am, my opinions are tied to "Tusk". We are technically 'annonymous', yet we still have an online identity. When I tried to post as "Q" to avoid trolls at Idoloonies, some long time Haliens still knew it was me
. In other words, it's not easy 'not' being you.What I've learned from this rather unusual opportunity I was lucky enough to be invited to is, that my efforts to keep things positive (minus a few 'outbursts'
), and always trying to refocus things on Haley as well as being respectful, .... apparently that resonates with some people. I went from a guy in Seattle with opinions who discovered he had a penchant for posting, to a lucky SOB who is invited to a private party starring Haley in LA 
My 'profile' increased at Idoloonies, and more when I befriended Himm2, which lead to a limited correspondence with Harry, to limited acknowledgement from Haley and so on....
I can only think this chain is predicated on levels of trust, since all anybody has to judge me on is what I post. Keeping my image offline unless I meet other Haliens in person meant that everyone else's opinions of me, have nothing to do with what I look like, my age, my ethnicity, only what I post.
There was a time I was a vocal opponent of "Stefaley", if you've noticed, I don't even 'go there' anymore. Why? Because I want it to be focussed on Haley, her talent and her career. Her personality, what makes her happy...who am I to judge who she calls friend?
It's about keeping things positive, looking forward, like Haley and the Reinharts do.
Any industry has aspects that are.... 'difficult' .... Like lawyers, they are disliked, until you need one
. It's part of the system that you have to deal with.There's a reason why they call it a 'negotiation'. There are reasons why it took 4 months. It wasn't easy. I am privy to some of how the negotiations went, some things that might be considered negative depending on your perception. Even revealing what I was told was the cost wouldn't factor in the demands and concessions of the negotiations. In otherwords, it would be irresponsible and probably inaccurate to post the amount without knowing the factors.
Might revealing the amount affect future negotiations? I guess it depends on who notices, but it might... which is why I had to preface my answer with the above about trust and the potential consequences.
I have accountability now to Harry, The Party's hosts and to a smaller extent, Haley, about being even more thoughtful what I post. The worse thing I can do is post something that might affect Haley's 'brand', what makes her so appealing to many of us, how her management negotiates and possibly any pending deals...
I guess the ultimate answer is there is no one price. Each negotiation has it's variables which affect the price. My hosts had to supply the location, AV and who knows what else, and that was outside of how much it cost to just hire Haley. Did they have to pay to fly Keith in and the hotels too? I don't know, maybe? Was that inclusive? No Idea.
If the article is true about Pia, I would have to think that the number of people attending is a factor to the $100K asking price. I was told there were 45 guests the other night, so maybe more will be attending for Pia. The article claims she turned down $50K, which is hard for me to believe not knowing how much of the $50K actually goes to Pia, or her reps...
I think Himm2's Idea is the strongest one. Schedule the gathering around an already existing Haley appearance in Chicago (Like we basically did last year at Lolla... Himm2, Babbs and me
). That way we don't have to be involved in any of the mechanics of the negotiations, we only have to pay for travel, lodging and admittance, we wouldn't have to clear it with the locals, hire security, provide refreshment and toiletries as well as a venue and AV set up....All would be taken care of by the event in which she is appearing... Maybe Haley can have a meet and greet a day after (like @ Lolla)
Often times the simplest solution is the best solution

My austerity budget accountant (my wife) would have no problem with me investing $95 for a one day Lollapalooza with Haley but it would be a tough sell if I had to come up with at least $500 for my share of a private party. And adding a $500 airfare plus $200 food & lodging if I came from WA or NY ... at that point I'd also be investing in a marriage counselor even though she's a Haley fan.
