I'm pretty sure Anders is the main producer--and I'm fine with that! ![]() RE: CREEP - PMJ studio version with HALEY - Miguel - 04-07-2015 Some share comments from Scott Bradley FB post (since these will soon be difficult to uncover): Quote:Hayley knocks another one out of the park!!! I even like this one better than Homeless Mustard's take on the classic!! Quote:Sacrilegious I know, but I prefer this cover to the original. She sent chills down my spine. Great, great cover. share: Quote:Never been a very big Radiohead fan...this makes me dig this song response: Quote:I love that song. Wicked version. Lady can sing. Quote:Now THAT'S a voice!!! Bravo little sister! Quote:um WOW ...I've been watching a bunch of these lately but this girl nails it- she's my fav so far Quote:Haley is the most amazing singer ever share: Quote:Uau... response: Quote:Haley rainha Quote:interesting reactions when I listen to this. i love her voice, may or may not have drooled, and then I wanted to watch true blood.... awkward Quote:My favorite thus far from PMJ. response to a share: Quote:Holy crap, that blew my mind. I think I like it better than the original. Quote:Damn, sing it Haley! share: Quote:So worth waiting for the crescendo at the end. response: Quote:That was amazing!! Awesome arrangement from Scott and everyone in Postmodern Jukebox response #1: Quote: I really didn't want to like that, and now I hate myself. response #2: Quote:Haley Reinhart has a voice that can soothe a volcano. Quote:What a voice! Giving me the chills and stuff! I've been looking at my videos of that night while editing the compilation video, you know what? After my jubilation of Haley's performances and all the stuff that happened that night, a wonderful take away from that is I ALSO got to see some pretty amazing performances from Morgan too ![]() I'm really upset I had that mishap with my camcorder viewfinder that I wasn't able to record all of her performance of "Maps" which they did also at the Meet n Greet. Both performance sounded amazing with great harmonies from Mykal and Ariana ![]() RE: CREEP - PMJ studio version with HALEY - dswim2 - 04-07-2015 I normally come hear to read the comments because you guys take out all of the negative ones; thanks for that by the way! I think Anders writes songs, but not primarily a producer, I'm not even sure he's associated with PMJ other than he knows Haley, I could be wrong (I think he also knows bass player, Adam Kubota, I have a pic of the two enthusiastically talking to each other until Adam notices me about to take a picture... the look wasn't a 'happy' one ![]() RE: CREEP - PMJ studio version with HALEY - john - 04-07-2015 (04-07-2015, 07:49 PM)dswim2 Wrote: I normally come hear to read the comments because you guys take out all of the negative ones; thanks for that by the way! It appears that when PMJ first releases the video all the "regulars" quickly watch it. Many are hoping for a special song to be covered or a favorite singer to be featured. So there is always some moanin' no matter what. Then, of course Haley's last two songs have already been recorded by PMJ, which invites the comparisons. And all the rest. But I find this performance so exceptional that the negative stuff is irrelevent. The song showcases some wonderful qualities of Haley's voice. We don't just trim out the negative comments, we leave out a ton of positive ones too. Any reactions to this one? Quote: RE: CREEP - PMJ studio version with HALEY - Tusk - 04-07-2015 That's right! Already 3 songs with PMJ, all with overwhelming positive remarks from a 'broad audience' (Over at MJ's the tried and true 'lament' that no one cares about Haley outside of Idol couldn't have been more wrong (MJ deleted), illustrated by the instant positive reactions from Fans across the globe ![]() RE: CREEP - PMJ studio version with HALEY - My Alter Ego - 04-07-2015 (04-07-2015, 07:19 PM)Tusk Wrote: HT PJ OK -- I'll throw the first brick. However, while my aim is relatively good, I can't vouch for strength. Your label of "classical jazz" is neither. If you want to hear classical jazz, seek Hubert Laws The Rite of Spring. Good luck finding it. If I could find an affordable CD, I'd own it now. (Once upon a time, long ago, I owned the vinyl version.) Another option: Marian McPartland's In My Life is another fine example, although in parts, its sounds more classical than jazz. (That said, I never realized what an absolutely gorgeous chord progression that song has until hearing her version.) And, of course, if you really want to go the distance, then listen to Nina Simone's "Love Me or Leave Me" wherein her "improv" solo breaks into a Bach contrapuntal improv (and it's really good!). Perhaps you meant "classic" jazz, but again, NOJO is 1940's style big band, nothing more, nothing less. (Mayfield's small groups performing in his club -- that's jazz.) Yes, there is crossover between the "big band" sound and jazz, although once I quit considering "big band" to be jazz, I don't really struggle with any crossover. "Big band" (unless it was early Ellington, and to some [limited] degree Count Basie) dilutes jazz to the point of pathetic. Scott Bradlee is a smart and very, very talented piano player, but to be labeling these "re-stylings" of pop songs as jazz is nothing but egregious, insulting and unknowledgeable hogwash. Billboard apparently has a narrow definitions of other categories, therefore uses "jazz" as a catch-all. What blithering idiots. RE: CREEP - PMJ studio version with HALEY - Miguel - 04-07-2015 We haven't even touched on the YouTube comments. Most of those are overwhelmingly positive too. PMJ FB share comments: Quote:I was already a fan of Miss Haley here, and this just cemented it. response to a share: Quote:ooohhhh! i just realized it's Haley from American Idol! I. love. her. #chills Quote:Amazing!!! Love Haley!!!! Quote:Wow! This woman's voice will give you chills! Quote:A cover that will send shivers down your spine. Quote:I love these guys/girls. I really want to perform with them. This is right down my alley...Haley burns this up. Russian: Quote:Хэйли совершенно фантастический исполнитель. Её голос и манера исполнения меня буквально завораживают. Супер талант. Quote:Casi me da algo! Sin aliento!!! share: Quote:Just when you think they can't get any better they come up with this... response: Quote:Jesus. She's a freaking badass! Quote:Jolin como canta la Xiqueta!! que manera de controlar la voz y sabe dar donde mas duele!!!!!!!! Quote:What was that?. OMG! Amazing. Picking up the Rumy talk: Quote:Rumy Milten Quote:This is also my first time hearing her. She's very good. Quote:It's good to see Haley working. I haven't been interested in American Idol since she got kicked. Quote:Love this, hopefully Haley will do more PMJ in the future. Quote:Hermosa versión... Chills included Quote:Haley Reinhart ist der Hammer! Quote:Wow! I'm completely blown away. Her voice is incredible. Quote:Oh my goodness. Desiree Dorland and JoJo Dorland this is awesome. Love Hailey. share: Quote:I remember when this girl was on American Idol years back, and I didn't care for her much then. But fast forward several years, and she's grown up a lot, and improved MUCH! She kills this version!! response: Quote:I remember her! I wanted her to win! This is amazing! RE: CREEP - PMJ studio version with HALEY - lauraliz - 04-07-2015 It seems like a million yrs ago that I first wrote about PMJ on the Casey thread back in early Nov. (I have to admit-I was surprised nobody responded to my post at 1st--I thought maybe people here weren't interested-hahahaha) I knew cool things would be coming from it--but never imagined all that has transpired-the videos--the tour--the press. What a wild ride! I have been following along on here--mostly on my ipad at nite or early morning. It's like my reading when I have trouble sleeping. It's like a great beach read. The details that some here have gathered and posted --arejust something else. The comments, the statistics--the recaps-it's a page turner! When I first heard the live cover of Creep--I flipped. STELLAR! Her voice has so many dimensions. The key changes she makes --WOW! Great arrangement by Scott. He's something! I have a FB page. 99% of my posts there are animal related. (Lost and found pets, bringing change to our local shelter and so on) But, here and there I will put some music stuff or personal stuff on FB. Anyway, I have shared some of the PMJ videos. And slowly, more & more people are liking the vids and leaving comments. Even my brother started liking the videos and sharing them on his page. I almost fainted LOL. (We rarely like the same thing) Of course, today I put up the Creep video. My brother was right on there and commented about how good it was--and shared it. Then. more people were commenting. Even my high school sweetheart chimed in. And he's a musician. A few of my friends watch idol. We were reminiscing about how much crap Haley was given on AI--while others were praised. It's kind of crazy/hilarious when u think about it. I mean, she was so good SMH I am seriously considering coming to Chicago to see Haley and PMJ. Can anyone tell me how far the venue is from the airport and if any decent hotels are in the area. THX |
