RE: Ole signs Haley to New Worldwide Deal! New EP! - Miguel - 01-20-2016 The sign outside the building says: "BMG Chrysalis." Wikipedia says of BMG Rights Management: Quote:The company operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of the international media conglomerate Bertelsmann, its name being the legacy of the former BMG, which was sold to Sony Music Entertainment in 2008. The company was established in 2008 as a joint venture between Bertelsmann and the global private equity firm KKR. Bertelsmann Music Group: Quote:Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG) was a division of Bertelsmann before its completion of sale of the majority of its assets to Japan's Sony Corporation of America on October 1, 2008. BMG website: Quote:BMG: THE NEW MUSIC COMPANY RE: Ole signs Haley to New Worldwide Deal! New EP! - Miguel - 01-26-2016 Haley has been developed and "upstreamed"? Latest Ole press release (about Jeff Trott): Quote:ole also operates a robust label services arm under the umbrella of ole label services. The division includes Anthem Entertainment Group, the label home of Rush as well as Big Wreck, Ian Thornley, Steven Page, The Tea Party, Anthem Legacy; Max Webster, Ian Thomas, and artist development label red dot, which has developed and upstreamed artists including Charlie Worsham, Haley Reinhart, Josh Dorr, Sam Grow, and Jordan Davis. Jordan Davis explained his development deal this way: Quote:The way the deal is structured, Davis is still being shopped to labels. “What’s so cool about ole is that they have the ability to get me a record deal, get me on the road and allow my music to develop. We have been in talks with producers for recording an EP. They pay for this upfront, and a label can then buy the masters from ole. My publisher is my manager/ publisher/stylist.” RE: Ole signs Haley to New Worldwide Deal! New EP! - mercfan3 - 01-26-2016 Oh, so they are looking for a label for Haley before it's released. That would be why it's taking longer. (Still hoping for Capitol) RE: Ole signs Haley to New Worldwide Deal! (Still hoping for Capitol) That would be a good one! They had the Beatles; they have Sam Smith and Tori Kelly right now. I think Atlantic Records would be great for her too; a lot of their artists are singer-songwriters with that retro fresh sound to them: Bruno Mars, Christina Perri, Jason Mraz, etc. She's probably looking for one that gives her a good amount of freedom; that's probably what it's going to come down to. Capitol doesn't seem to have too many artists, so they would probably give her a good amount of attention. RE: Ole signs Haley to New Worldwide Deal! New EP! - mercfan3 - 01-26-2016 Right. They also seem to be very good with the Freedom thing. (And with managing expectations.) Allen Stone is also a part of Capitol. And the label let Mary Lambert put spoken word on her album. Atlantic also seems pretty supportive. And if BMLG wants to go pop, they're good too. That's about it though, unless she went with a smaller one. RE: Ole signs Haley to New Worldwide Deal! RE: Ole signs Haley to New Worldwide Deal! New EP! - Miguel - 03-02-2016 Quote:Justin Gray He shares a songwriting credit with them: "Talkin' About." He wrote a theme song for a Disney "prequel" to The Wizard of Oz that Mariah Carey performed: Quote:She came in and the rest of it became a very intense collaboration through email, through management and then of course the big marketing people and the director of the video [Raimi] and brand strategists. It became very complex at that time, and I wish we could say we all sat in a room together, but it was very back and forth. Sending lots of MP3s, lots of lyrics, hearing lots of different vocal passes as the song sort of came together in its last moments. RE: Ole signs Haley to New Worldwide Deal!
