RE: The Better Era - Outcast - 04-02-2016 OK I finally listened to Better. I found it on an illegal site after giving up on All Access. It's really nice though I'm sure the quality of the version on that site is poor. Better sounds like a song from the 90s that I've heard before but I can't remember it now. Is she sending it to HAC? I'm not sure if that's the most suitable format for it, it sounds more like the stuff that gets played on AAA. AAA isn't as welcoming to Idol alums but I remember Free getting some airplay there. The Saint Andrews venue in Detroit says its capacity is 1,400, so that it about 500 more than the Varsity Theater. So, many of the theaters may have capacities larger than your 900 estimate. I definitely think many of the shows are likely to sell out by the time June gets here. Additionally, many artists with label ties are able to keep a lot of their tour profits, and I can't imagine that would be any different for Haley, especially since she has no label ties. She definitely stands to make a nice profit from this tour. RE: The Better Era - john - 04-02-2016 The info online indicates St. Andrews holds about 1000 in the main hall, with 400 capacity in a basement venue. The size of the venues varies quite a bit; from less than 400 to more than 1000. VIP prices vary a lot and most venues are charging $20-25 for general admission. Currently she has scheduled 17 shows over a 23 day period. If she were to average 500 tickets per show @ $22 each, that is 11,000 per night. For this exercise, I'd guess that about 30% of the comes off the top to venues, booking agents, promoters and such. That would leave $7,700 X 17 = 130,900. Add to that VIP tickets. I'll make up some numbers for that - average $25 price (above gen adm), with 20 attending, thats an additional $500, if 30 attend that's $750. I'll go with $500 X 17 shows for an additional $8500. I have know idea how much she can make in merch, especially since this is her 1st time through, but if she made $15 dollars per t-shirt for example she would bring in $750 by selling 50 of them. I'll say after inventory costs she brought in $1000 per night in merch profits, which would be $17,000 for the tour. My totals for the tour Gen Adm tickets 130,900 VIP MnG 8500 MMerch 17,000 Total -- 173,400 From that subtract expenses that include paying the band, food, and paying for a tour bus, as well as various management expenses. Nice math John...will be an interesting conversation with Harry & Patti if we have an opportunity to discuss business at Shindig IV or V (whatever it is up to now) in Chicago at the end of April. So, maybe $110,000 - $140,000 for a net to Haley on the conservative side. That is a nice paycheck for one month in the USA! Think about the international appeal...world tour. You go girl! ![]() ---------------------------------- finally heard Better here: http://360musicng.co/haley-reinhart-better-cdq/ RE: The Better Era - john - 04-03-2016 LOL I just noticed my addition is wrong. ![]() Here is one band's tour budget (they are from the bay area and post a lot of YT videos): https://medium.com/@jackconte/pomplamoose-2014-tour-profits-67435851ba37#.1ceomsntr RE: The Better Era - john - 04-03-2016 Quote:Chad Taylor @ChadTaylorRadio 6m6 minutes ago Sartell, MN[/quote] RE: The Better Era - john - 04-04-2016 Quote:Mix 107.9 @MyMix1079 4h4 hours ago Bexley, OHResults graph: 88 votes, 90% Adam Lambert - Welcome, 10% Haley Reinhart - Better. ![]() RE: The Better Era - Miguel - 04-04-2016 The Glamberts got hold of that. Um yeah, that's another reason AAA is a "better" way to go than HAC. That way you guys won't have to deal with the herd. Not that this is gonna help their cause, the DJs and PDs know full well that most of those votes aren't local. They just won't get it, 50+ year old women who are not regular listeners are NOT the target audience for HAC, so what they want is worth jack. And WTTS is a mediocre song, one of Adam's worst, Better is a great song. |
