Crap. I just realized it's January. I had it in my head this was only a couple of weeks later than I expected. It's a month and a half away!
My reaction to the date was that a single is likely ready to go today and if it has been pushed so far out someone must be planning something.

figure8 pointed out March 1st is an Idol results night:

So, good chance it debuts there.

If she has a hit single, based on Interscope's perspective, why would you wait until March 1st? It makes me think that something is amiss here.

It's an awful long time until March. Sad I wonder if they cut a deal to debut it on Idol or something. In that case Interscope might see it as worth the wait.

Haley Reinhart Announces March 1 Single Release Date

American Idol Season 10 alum, Haley Reinhart, teased her fans last night with some big news. After a couple of tweets hinting at big news to come, she finally announced that her first single from her upcoming album will be released on March 1.

Hi there beautiful spirits of the world. I’ve got some big plans… Followed up by some big news heheee! #yawantin? I feel like I’ve made yaz wait long enough. So I won’t make you do any of that much longer… Like I am right now….Wink heheeee! All the hard work is finally coming together to pay off….. Big Grin Thanks for sticking around and ya know, helpin’ a girls dream come true…My first single will be released… Bum bum bummmmmmmmmm!!!!! Onnnnnnn…………………………………………. March 1, 2012.

That means her debut album, set to be released on Interscope Records, can’t be far behind. Hooray!

I'm wondering what Haley is doing about earning money these days? Is she blowing her savings, or is she being fronted advances that she will eventually be forced to pay back at some point. I'm sure living in LA she had to purchased a car. Not to mention that LA isn't exactly one of the cheapest places to live.

I believe after the tour ended she gave an interview where she mentioned having a car payment for the first time. She probably earned $50K on the tour and likely received an advance with her record deal. So if she hasn't spent recklessly she ought to be doing alright.


In thinking about Haley's announcement about her first single the other day, it struck me she didn't give any specifics about the tune -- no name or suggestion of what type of sound it will have.

That makes me wonder if they haven't decided what tune to go with.

I'm not upset it's worth the wait and at my age I've learned to be under the bridle of being patient maybe that's one of my strong points in my character. If she would've said January 20 and it never came to pass that I would be pissed all the stars are starting to line up for Queen Haley so now it's confirmed you've heard it in every English-speaking tabloid all over the Internet that it will be here on the first and I believe her. Scrolling down a little bit who took the picture of her standing with her hands on her hips. As kind of a no nonsens in-your-face type of picture I love it.
