He is originally from Wilmette, which is a suburb of Chicago, but he moved to California when he was a child, so I don't see the connection there??

I've just been assuming the reason Casey goes to Chicago quite a bit was because The Reinharts are there. Not because I think Haley & Casey dating. They might be/they might not be. They do seem to be planning this next phase of their careers together, even tho they're probably doing it as solo artists. Kind of a Tom Petty/Stevie Nicks partnership but more so. Anyway, Chicago seems to be home base #2 for them.
From Casey & Chiara's Instagram tweets, it sounds like they haven't seen each other in a while, wonder if they met up at Coachella.

When Casey is playing in that part of the country, it probably makes sense to fly into Chicago and rent a vehicle. It would also be logical then to also book shows in the Chicago area since it has many venues.
