That Lily Allen is something... and i like her sound a lot
and found it hilarious.
But what show was that ? was that a spoof of americans in skit on a variety show ? a video ?
that was a Brit girl doing a country Rap as dirty as smutty urban stuff (thought I went "low" with my "rap"? )

I'm glad to see Lily getting some love. I'm also surprised she has gotten so little play in the States because I think she and Amy Winehouse were both contemporaries of each other, bringing that mix of old school music and "chick with an attitude" to their music. America picked up on Winehouse and forgot about Lily. Well I'm glad to have added to her fans.
(I guessed her because I figured you would connect with her "attitude with a sense of humor" approach to things)

^ loved all the Lily Allen vids...especially the country western spoof. She has a unique voice and style (where have we heard that before?) ...very artistic. Of course, anytime you put chickens, goats and cows in a music video I get a little teary eyed, because now you've hit my two favorite genres of music...Country & Western...Chicago style

Another on my favorites list(far lower than it was 20 years go for me though), largely for the music and cinematography:
"you either surf or fight", and of course the "smell of napalm in the morning"... no ride of the valkyries in the clip.
I'm not into the movie now as much as I was at 18 or 20 years old. Knowing a bit more about thw world now, material is too heavy for the way its shown. I'm not sure if it is either if it is edgey enough to portray the magnitude of the hell , or just doesn't quite sends enough messages about real relationships etc .... interesting though.. probably decent enough retelling of conrad's heart of darkness for better or worse. It does have some very interesting "time and place" moments.

and if Madness then "Our House" great song. When it came out, I loved it because it reminded me of the times I grew up in the UK and the friends I had there. Don't know how often I played this song, was a very favorite.
Might as well post CSNY's version, though not silly or artsy, this song always makes me think of happier, more innocent times in the past

I'm not religous per se, and am not sure of the existence of souls, but if I had to put a definition on what I believe a soul to be. That would be it.
Without our experiences, relationships and memories...what are we?

What made me smile was T-Man’s “Checkmate” comment. It’s only 'check' because it's a song originally sung by Murray Head, not by ABBA, who's songwriting skills were never in question.

^ Totally agree MAE …what were we talking about? Oh yeah, the importance of “memory markers”; which begs the question, is that extra bong-load really worth it?
