RE: New single (BIY) and pre-order of "What's That Sound" album on Friday, J... - Tusk - 06-24-2017 Seems like a "bundle" would include the Poster, so I figured it's misspoken or typo ![]() (Ie there are two prizes instead of one) RE: New single (BIY) and pre-order of "What's That Sound" album on Friday, J... - Himm2 - 06-24-2017 I had amazing timing on my two drives today listening to the Pulse on XM Radio. I was heading to a client appointment before going to the White Sox Game and Haley's BIY got replayed this morning, and then upon leaving the Ballpark it again came on this afternoon. I recorded it both times today while I was driving (illegally) holding a cellphone. I have it uploaded to somewhere other than the blockers on Youtube. After my nighttime listen, I now have two more morning & afternoon listens: ![]() RE: New single (BIY) and pre-order of "What's That Sound" album on Friday, J... - john - 06-24-2017 It appears that Sirius Pulse has played BIY four times on channel 15 in the past 24 hours. http://www.dogstarradio.com/search_playlist.php?artist=Haley+Reinhart&title=Baby+It%27s+You&channel=&month=&date=&shour=&sampm=&stz=&ehour=&eampm= RE: New single (BIY) and pre-order of "What's That Sound" album on Friday, June 16th. - Miguel - 06-25-2017 That fits with the schedule Tusk posted earlier. So once more on Sunday morning and then once again at midnight on Tuesday (basically, end of Monday). http://haleyfans.com/showthread.php?tid=2544&pid=62728#pid62728 RE: New single (BIY) and pre-order of "What's That Sound" album on Friday, J... - Miguel - 06-25-2017 Just came across a social media conversation I somehow missed before. It reveals some new details about the production. Quote:Paul R. Blakemore Quote:Rachel Maurer Quote:Paul R. Blakemore Quote:David Grosvenor Quote:Brad Bolton Quote:Steve Meador Quote:Paul R. He will be mastering my recording, "TALIESIN" for 7 players in August and I cannot wait ! RE: New single (BIY) and pre-order of "What's That Sound" album on Friday, June 16th. - Miguel - 06-25-2017 Paul has 48 Grammy nominated and 20 Grammy winning albums. https://soundbetter.com/profiles/33481-paul-r-blakemore He doesn't post to FB very often. His last post prior to this was from December noting he "received a Grammy nomination in the Best Engineered non-classical category." In another story I found, he said masters over 120 albums a year for Concord. So to call this one out is special. The same story noted Concord acquired the company he worked for, and he was the only person they retained. He's based in Cleveland. Or was at the time of the writing. Quote: Scotch 202 tape was typical of the first generation of low-noise tape, and flat output required much less drive at high frequencies. He definitely doesn't post a lot and I think his post is a nice nod to Haley and the people behind this record. In the December post he also notes that nine albums he mastered or mixed had been nominated for various Grammy awards, in addition to his engineering nomination. The next most recent post was in February 2016: Quote:I've just finished a large audio preservation, restoration, and remastering project for these ten classic Prestige Records titles: So the 3 posts he has made since Feb 2016 involve restoring a historic collection of jazz records, getting nominated for a Grammy, and Haley Reinhart. ![]() RE: New single (BIY) and pre-order of "What's That Sound" album on Friday, J... - Miguel - 06-25-2017 Quote:I took great pains to optimize both the physical condition of the tapes and machine calibration for playback of each song. In addition, advanced digital restoration software tools were used to minimize noise, imperfections due to deterioration of the tape oxide, and overall sound quality. Working on Haley's stuff he was probably like, "Tape? But why?" Notable that he felt comfortable linking to "Baby It's You" even though it wasn't one of the standouts he listed. A special project for a special talent, so it seems. |
