It's a shame the powers-that-be didn't get this gig for her when FREE and Listen Up! were ascending. Instead of a nice little bump she may have gotten a hit making jolt. Then again, she's so much better delivering the song now that maybe the extra time she had to marinate with it was worth the wait. The difference between her Idol/Conan performances and her current, more nuanced performances is like night and day. She found her comfort zone. She's feeling the song, not acting the part, and it really shows.

I also contend Haley is often at her best when she performs seated on a stool/chair/piano. She gets more deeply lost in the song, delivers her most brilliantly nuanced vocals, and there's none of those nervous, jerky motions. Fantastic.

Loved the smooth subtle runs she threw in for this slower acoustic version of "Free." She does it so effortlessly and with such fluidity. Always impressive, but this is the best I've heard her perform Free. It was more laid-back, yet more passionate. Thoroughly enjoyed it...Thanks for the video! (I forgot to DVR the View, but knew I could count on this forum :-) )
