Another legend who was lost way too young. The late, great Toy Caldwell of the Marshall Tucker Band.

In case someone might be interested and unaware, The Rolling Stone currently has a special collector's edition featuring the top 100 guitarists (of all time or some other exaggerated concept).

If you can master classical guitar, and flamenco guitar ,you can play just about anything. Learning picking techniques and scales ,and eight hours of practice every day. That's just about what it takes.

In the late '70's these song and the 'live' album they were on, "Frampton Comes Alive" were omnipresent. Everybody loved them some Peter Frampton.
....he had broken some record with the album too, don't remember which one...maybe best selling "Live" LP ever or something...
It was a monster album, people would break out their 'air guitar' to mimic Frampton's guitar work.
Love this song .... brings back happy thoughts
and of course, one of the ultimate 'love songs' of the '70's
Cheesy but a Great love song nonetheless....

If I remembered right, these shows would play really late at night....I'm thinking after Saturday Night Live (The John Belushi/Dan Akroyd versions )
...It was THE show to see your favorites perform, live, and the production was usually really good. I seem to remember it was a treat to stay up late and watch SNL then this show. (if I remember right.... )
