Two a point I do agree that the Rolling Stones have put out some really good tunes Jagger is who he is bad vocals and all. I'm not sure but I think he was either married or had a girlfriend whose name was Marianne faithful who sang a song as tears go by and then later the Rolling Stones sang that song.

As Tears Go By was written by Jagger, Richards and Oldham. She had a relationship with Jagger and got addicted to drugs and the rest of it.
Not much of a stage presence.
These guys were like regulars on the Ed Sullivan show.
Another from 1965 or so.

RE: Classic rock - Tusk - 01-08-2013
So when did the classic era end? Mid '80's?
the classic rock I was more aware of was pretty much around the late '70's, basically by the time I moved to the States.
Of course I listened to Fleetwood Mac and Peter Frampton and the like (Zep and Sabbath on the heavier end), but some other bands I haven't seen listed I think fall under the Classic Rock era include
Boston
ELO
Kansas
Styx (One of LovinDa's favorites )
Rush
Blue Oyster Cult
Supertramp
(most ST videos are unavailable, but there are vids of Roger Hodgeson, their lead singer, performing the songs)
Yes
and the incomprable Eddie Van Halen, Circa 1977
..and so on

Those are all really good.thanx for shairing The late 60s and up until the early 80s after that it was punk rock and new age. girl bands boybands and electric mucis. and big hair Music Put it this way, the age of classic rock are gone, bring it back Hales
I don't know that much about styx except they've been around forever and there is a huge cult following .The rock opera sound of Tommy Shaw and Dennis deYoung have put out great songs like Babe, lady ,blue-collar, man snow blind, the one I'm posting now is probably the best cover of can't find my way home.
:) got to love it
