I cannot get enough of the entire performance, all of Haley's colours on top of Dylan's solid musical foundation. MAE has it right, one thing that's unique about Dylan is he plays well with others, his talent is so understated, you almost miss that he's technical skills on guitar are really very good. He is almost giving in his support of other performers.
Incidentally, I don't 'Hate' the original of this song, I actually could listen to this in the right mood.... he actually has an almost "Prince" quality about it, I can see why Haley'd like this fairly 'obscure' song

I don't hate it but I do find that I don't have much tolerance for the electronic sound when I sample vids of this type.

I was a European transplant and a teenager during MTV's birth and explosion so was exposed to alot of euro/synth

I actually really like the original "Sail" Something about it reminds me of early Trent Reznor, "Nine Inch Nails".... there was a period of time, I listened to "Downward Spiral" Constantly (Warning Explicit Lyrics/Subject Matter)

Regarding Cry me a River and Pathetic, Haley shows her usual live perfection but what stands out to me is how truly unique she is today. She is going places.
The scat breakdown Haley and Casey did on Cry me a river expanded into outer space then they brought it back laser-focused. Incredible.
Dylan's guitar playing is exceptional every time. Great job Dylan.

It depends. I like the basic idea that one can make any set of sounds electronically but, but a lot of it is lame and same.
My first exposure to live synth/electronic music I suppose was in 1971 when I saw Emerson, Lake and Palmer. I love the joyful look Haley has as she watches Casey scat on CMAR. She starts with that cute stare at him after she finishes her hand trumpeting, like "you didn't see that coming did ya?" But the part I really like is when she starts singing at the end of his scat -- seamless. Then she finishes with that note.

I'm adding pictures to clean up the look of the videos a little.... A few of Greg's, a few of Rachel's, a few from Instagram....The only one's I have left to find images I like are the two for Caley's performances
I think Greg said he might send me some....
Be sure to watch these in 1080P HD.... I am so glad i took the plunge and got a decent camera.... just a reminder what my other "HD" camera produced

We really got lucky with our seats too, so kind of Haley and Alberto (Beatalks) to keep the table open for us after they asked everyone to leave, we had to exit the room to have to line up and buy tickets while the entertainers did their last warm up.
(Also, all of the tables around ours had "reserved" signs already on them, Mark generally reserves the front tables for his DWTS friends. Duck Dynasty partner, Sadie was there as well as Witney Carson and Derek Hough sat to the left of us. Also, Mark's parents were there. My friend told me I should go introduce myself to his Mom, since she taught my Mother, Ballroom dancing. But that was decades ago, I figured, no way she'd remember her
LOL)Besides the DWTS folk and some "Pretty Little Liars" folk, there were quite a few women there to see Mark, I'm sure some famous ones, tho I wouldn't recognise them being so out of this generation's media loop.
I tried to take pictures of the crowd, but it was so dark, my camera couldn't focus, I daren't change the settings in case I mess it up for the video. It was like a mini Hollywood premiere with all the starlets there
I almost missed the beginning of "Better", Haley went right into it, I hurriedly clicked the record button, and for some reason, my camera chose that time to lose complete focus of the stage. It was all blurry
I tried to regain focus by adjusting the lens, but that didn't work so I stopped and started the camera again, reset it so it might gain focus. That's why there is that half second interruption in the video of "Better" at the beginning. Luckily, resetting the shot did refocus the camera (phew)
PS... it must be something about "Better" the exact same thing happened when I filmed Haley's debut of the song at BGDays, the same camera lost focus as soon as the song started for quite a few seconds at the beginning... with some creative editing, I made it appear that I meant the shot to go from blurry to focus #Serendipity

That was very cool that Haley "reserved" your table for you. It helps to personally know one of the headliners, and she knows you are helping her with your videos. Maybe she can help you get a prime spot for the NOJO show too!
