This has been my suspicion (hope, really). My gut tells me the delay is more than just related to Haley's PMJ commitments. While Haley may 'go with the flow', I seriously doubt Ole would.
The theme of Better COULD fit a movie, I think. However, after listening to the 1:30s clip that was posted on iTunes I'm not so sure. What do others think? Maybe an upbeat empowerment flick?
Your guess is a good as anyone's, I have no clue. I would have never thought that SMYM would be in a major national ad campaign commercial with dogs??? Go figure.....

With Ole's acquistion of Anthem Records, I would imagine it has been really crazy at their HQ getting that deal done and perhaps they did not want to rush out Haley's release of "Better".
Maybe, they will release it with a big press release about Haley being signed with Anthem Records? And maybe tie it in with the video for the song-and who knows, maybe that got delayed?
I am frustrated by the delay, but think it might mean good things for Haley--a more coordinated splash with more media and PR exposure.....
BTW, I listened to the longer snippet of "Better" and really, really like it. Is it a radio single? Who knows--but I think her Idol fanbase will like it alot given its rock guitars and Haley's growling vocals. ALL GOOD HALIENS!

Haley's tweeting up a storm, including retweeting and favoriting tweets regarding the iTunes samples and pre-orders, proof positive she's not been following along w/ what's been happening about it being put up and being taken down.
So far, she's favorited 59 tweets and counting....I can't be sure, but it has to be some kind of record for one session lol
I guess she did know....
Haliens were worried she would see the tweets about the pre-orders...

I did a quick search of movies due for release in December which could possibly be good candidates for placement. Anything to do with broken relationships, feeling better, the ocean/sea, etc. Has to be the right mood and genre.
I did come up with one interesting possibility, which would be an unbelievable break if true. Disclaimer: I think this is a longshot and am not implying I have found any hard facts to support this. However, I did find this upbeat empowerment flick, perhaps the ultimate empowerment flick, due to come out December 25, 2 weeks after the December 11 rescheduled release date of "Better", which I think would be a good fit.
The movie is Joy - a David O. Russell film starring Jennifer Lawrence, with Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro. Looks like they have big plans for this one.

David Russell has said that music plays an important part in telling the story. There is no hint of "Better" in the trailer, and nothing to suggest the character literally throws her ring into the ocean (although there is a boat scene) but that still leaves a lot of movie for a lot of music, some perhaps classics and some, perhaps, new.
How about it running during the credits? Emmy nomination for best original score? If not, then how about just a snippet of better, better, better, running through the movie?
Could Ole have done some placement magic here?
Just dreaming, while waiting for my pre-order to be delivered.

Haha, I started to write a post about "Joy" yesterday but never posted it. I discovered Haley and Jennifer Lawrence at the same time in 2010 with Haley on Idol and Jennifer picking up her first Oscar nomination for Winter's Bone. They are still my favorite singer and actress. Jennifer is 24 days older than Haley.
It's probably unlikely that "Better" will be in "Joy" given Russell's tendancy to use period specific classical music. "Joy" will include the Rolling Stones and the Bee Gees (a Tusk favorite and their 3rd appearance in a Russell movie). Would love to see Haley join in the party. "Joy" will likely be up for multiple Oscars, including Picture, Director, Actress, and possibly Support Actor, among others.

The one thing going for Haley in that area is that her music sounds retro. If someone put it on Vinyl and said "this is from the 60s" it would be believed by most casual listeners.
If Haley got a huge movie like that, then it's worth the wait. (I hope so), but I'm not counting those chickens yet.

"Better" is a different way of singing "Free" ...both are rejoicing that she can get on with her life after a relationship that didn't work. It's not much about creating things that are "Better"

That's true within the song, but promos will only use parts of the song.
