Admittedly, my Metal card expired somewhere in the late 90's early 2000's so excuse me if I'm not aware of where Steel Panther rate in the Metal hierarchy, but IMO, James out sung their lead singer in those performances. He's hitting those high notes with more ease, it looks like.

Steel Panther are very well known in the metal world but they're viewed by most as a cheezy 80s hair metal parody-like throwback band. You might remember them by their old name they went by back in the 80s - Metal School.

Still they have a pretty big and stable fanbase and they regularly pack the house whenever they're in town. They've always been very supportive of James and this is the 3rd time he's performed with them. So that's cool with me even though I'm not into them myself.

And yeah James sings circles around Michael Star and he knows it, he always lets James do the high notes.

I started getting into Metal in the '80's and listened to bands as varied as Accept (Germany) to Loudness (Japan), Malmsteen to Mustane, but never have heard of Metal School...but I'm surprised Steel Panther goes that far back to be off my radar Tongue

BTW, I thought the guitarist, with that shirt, reminded me of the guy in the Metal Band from Jack Black's "School of Rock"
