I understand where you are coming from - a very practical and logical place. But the reality is that art is rarely, if ever, practical and logical. The end result of us not supporting our artists is that slowly but surely Great art and music will cease to exist in our society, and that is a tragedy, IMO.
Funding for art and music in schools and public broadcasting has already been slashed or eliminated; the big labels and the radio stations are only willing to back the sure thing, creativity, risk and variety be damned; and of course, we the masses now consider free and unlimited access to music to be our Godgiven right, even if we have to steal it. Anyone considering a vocation in the arts or music these days is screwed, and a little crazy. Let's face it, if Haley has to go get a fulltime job a McDonalds to fund her music, it ain't never gonna happen. She's not trying to get rich here, she is just trying to create something beautiful, FOR US. My twenty dollars could not be better spent.
ETA: History shows us that the production of great art and music coincides with a culture that is supportive of musicians and artists, either through the state/government or wealthy benefactors - Da Vinci and Mozart didn't have day jobs. I honestly see crowdsourcing as a sensible way to share the burden.
Great technique to make a convincing argument. There is accepting of the original post as valid in it's context, a countering with positive and equally valid points and it isn't attacking, accusatory or demeaning

Can someone get Haley to attach a paypal account to it? I'd love to contribute, but with kickstarter getting hacked recently, I don't really feel comfortable with putting my credit card information on this site.

I made the offer before thinking it through, throughly. Blank blu rays are more expensive, plus the case and what you already mention. If she accepts and we can satisfy copyright issues, I was thinking it could be an "add on" bonus option. If you donate to a certain level, say $100, $15 also gets you a blu ray (dvd option for those who don't own a blu ray player.) This would also satisfy some of the shipping cost, since it will be delivered in addition to something else.
Maybe put a limit on how many available, (50? 100?) make it more unique, create value. That would limit the number I'd have to make.
We could even put an HD of her new video on it too. Time spent would just be re editing it for content and credit, the first disc takes the longest because of encoding, the others not as long. 25+ min each.
It could be as simple as giving them the files so they could edit it themselves. They probably have better, more efficient resources than I and would take the burden of mass producing the discs from me. Anything to incentivise for participation and donation.
Of course it would be moot if she doesn't accept or the copyrights prevent it.
Just thinking out of the box, a donation that might encourage more donations, while giving a keepsake of Haley's most complete concert performance as a true fan memento. If not, I'll donate the standard way

I just checked and it is Haley that would make Paypal an available option and it's interesting to note that the funds would go directly to her personal Paypal account (but Paypal will take 3% & Indiegogo will take 9% but reimburse 5% if she reaches her goal):

With Credit Card the same fees apply but she has to wait until the campaign period is over to get the funds where with Paypal it's instant.

Tusk, I would LOVE a BluRay DVD of the Lollapalooza and Buffalo Grove shows. Would you consider offering the DVDs here on this site to interested Haliens, then we would pay you via PayPal directly, then you could forward the funds to Haley's effort? You could name the price/level of giving to cover your expenses and make sure Haley gets a nice donation as well.

Sounds like you're on to something there rmd!
and I'd be willing to help Tusk with DVD burning of vids I have so he could work on the better quality Blu Rays and it wouldn't be as directly compromised with copyrights since it would be a non-public offering for donation to Haley's music video fund.

The issue has always been the exchange of money. I don't own a business license, nor do i want to learn about the taxes i would have to pay. It's another thing to give them as gifts, like the T Shirts, when I meet people where I travel.
Unlike some, I want to avoid the perception of an ulterior motive to my support of Haley by not making a 'side business' selling paraphenalia. I hope to avoid anything that might attract that kind of attention from taxing or licensing.
That's where this offer stalls unfortunately. I don't know, but I'm hoping this might slip under donation, rather than money transaction. And since it is her concert, I'm hoping she has some influence over copyrights. If it means we omit some songs, fine. Better some than nothing

'American Idol' alum Haley Reinhart turns to Indiegogo to fund music video

Haley Reinhart has an idea for her music video for her song “Show Me Your Moves!” but she doesn’t have the funds to pay for it. The Wheeling native and “American Idol” alum was dropped by Interscope Records in 2012.
That’s where Indiegogo comes in.
The 23-year-old singer is using the crowdfunding website to raise $30,000 for the music video. Her campaign began Monday and will end April 18. As of Tuesday morning, $3,741 had been raised for the video.
“Let me make this video so cool, hip, talented, hypnotic, whatever you want,” Reinhart said in a video on Indiegogo. “What makes this video so special is the song itself is super funky. It’s got such a break, such a beat to it that all these world class dancers can really get down to. So we got people dancing, doing all kinds of, you know, crazy Cirque du Soleil (acrobatics).
"We’re going to take this video and make it – you know, ($30,000) is our goal right? – this production is going to look like $150,000, because that’s what it’s worth.”
According to her Indiegogo page, Reinhart – the only “Idol” alum to play Lollapalooza -- will give you a shoutout on social media for a $25 donation. For a $15,000 donation, Reinhart will perform a private concert for you and your friends in your backyard.

The singer confirmed new single entitled ‘Show Me Your Moves!‘, first taste of her highly-anticipated second studio album. Reinhart plans to launch the single in March and she’s raising money for the video now via co-fundraising site indiegogo. She’s coming… and yes, she loves exclamation points!
Did she confirm a new single for a March release? By the way, I think it would help the efforts for video fundraising if the song was out there for her fans. Has anyone heard it?
