RE: Haley joining PMJ for part of European tour - Tusk - 03-28-2015 When Haley agreed to do this, it was sort of a validation, and I felt good that she'd even consider it. This was one of the things I had to consider whether to share or not. I guess I should think harder on what I share. Haley appreciates all her dedicated fans. We appreciate what everyone posts and that they share their experiences here too. You and Rachael do a great job keeping Haley out there on social media. It is a lot of hard work for you I am sure it will pay off for her. I love to see the stats of people viewing the videos and experiencing her journey. For whatever reason Haley does not use social media to promote herself and I personally think she could do more. Who knows why and if she ever will. I just really enjoy coming here and reading all everyone shares, finds and posts. Thank you. ![]() RE: Haley joining PMJ for part of European tour - Miguel - 03-28-2015 Thank you XAtlantic for your thoughtful posts regarding Haley. I agree it would be wise for her to be highly selective when it comes to her official YT channel. The two videos Haley mentioned to Tusk are of a mellow nature, so the audio never feels like it is pushing the limits of the equipment. Harry also played on them, which no doubt makes them more special to her. I think it would also behoove Haley -- as a somewhat established singer/songwriter approaching her mid-twenties -- not to have too many covers on her official channel. But we've seen Facebook can be a powerful outlet. These last couple of years, Haley would have benefited immensely by posting many of Tusk's highly regarded videos there. That seems like the ideal approach since it's a "social" site where people share things. RE: Haley joining PMJ for part of European tour - Babbs234 - 03-28-2015 Thank you XAtlantic for sharing your insightful thoughts this morning. I love reading your posts. ![]() ![]() ![]() All the artists have gotten great exposure from touring with PMJ. Each sparkles in their own unique way. As different as each one is, together they become something special, backing and supporting each other. As you, XAtlantic and Tusk know first hand from seeing them live. ![]() ![]() Quote: For whatever reason Haley does not use social media to promote herself and I personally think she could do more. Wink It would be nice if Haley could pick up some of Scott's social media skills, but I'm not holding my breath. Maybe having millions of fans is not Haley's goal. Just putting out quality music, dabbing in song writing, acting, voice overs, and making a living at it. Being able to support yourself doing what you love! Who knows... Either way, I love her music and who she is as a person. And I will always be here as a fan. ![]() RE: Haley joining PMJ for part of European tour - Jastal - 03-28-2015 I love reading the insightful comments from XAtlantic and all the others. It makes this a great forum for sure!! While I really love Haley's involvement with PMJ and feel it has been a great experience and career stepping stone I would really be dissapointed if this were her last stop. I want to hear NEW music, not covers. Everyone has different musical taste, and for me, the more familiar the song, the less it appeals. New music keeps me engaged! I would love PMJ to play new music, but that is not their hook. Their covers are very nice and creative, but for me, it has it's limits. I listen to Haley covers because of her voice... the addiction is real ![]() RE: Haley joining PMJ for part of European tour - rmd1064 - 03-28-2015 So, my .02… Regarding PMJ and Haley, I agree with most that it was a perfect marriage of styles, PMJ’s throw-back jazz arrangements of modern songs, and Haley’s “once in a generation” jazzy vocal abilities, looks and charisma. I do think that this experience will benefit Haley greatly and I do believe many people are discovering her because of PMJ, or rediscovering her. (“Hey, wasn’t she on Idol….”) That is why I really hope she continues with PMJ on part or all of the North American tour. As noted by some folks here, this is a great experience for her, being with a band on the road, learning the ropes from seasoned vets. As I have said before, Haley does not strike me as the four guys and a van type of girl to just play clubs and venues hoping to make the big time. PMJ is perfect for her, because she has the PMJ band and support behind her, she does not have to headline the show or manage much, and she gets to perform amazing numbers. I think that “Creep” may be one of the best things she has ever done live. I cannot see any reason why she would not tour as she is really hitting her stride now, and Scott clearly sees her as a “star” to highlight. If the EP is coming out, fine, work around it. Hell, figure out a way to play solo shows in towns in conjunction with PMJ. (Scott: “By the way, Haley has a new EP out and will be at the Wonderland Bar tomorrow night, with some of the members of the band, including Casey….”) Regarding these crazy video view numbers (12+ million?), that is not YouTube—right? That is Facebook? But I thought if you linked to a YouTube video on Facebook it should count views there. Who knows. In any event, clearly PMJ has her in front of millions of eyeballs which is a good thing. Tusk---God Bless You Man. Thank you for the time and effort (and money!) you have put in chronicling and documenting Haley’s career to date. I really hope Haley adds some of your videos to her YouTube Channel. Why wouldn’t she? They may not be “professional”, but they are damn good with good quality sound and pictures. And I am also so glad Rachel’s terrific site is being linked on Haley’s Twitter. She should do the same on Instagram and Facebook as well. Anyway, with the new EP, this astounding PMJ success, and her voice over work coming up and maybe acting…we have a lot to look forward to as Halien Nation. Haley is living her dream, and we are along for the ride…. ![]() RE: Haley joining PMJ for part of European tour - Tom22 - 03-28-2015 (03-25-2015, 12:22 PM)lovinghaleyr Wrote: CREEP at O2 of another angle(good audio) That was awesome I loved the angst and bareness as she conceived a character and brought it to life that fit the melody and words; and did so with enough pulling from herself and her vocal strengths. To be honest I had real doubts if I would enjoy Haley singing Creep, She almost entirely avoided stuff like (what I would consider) a gratuitous jazz lick starting at 2:55 which is an example of stuff that has been bothering me lately. Something beautiful that doesn't belong where it is is as offsetting to me as an out of tune or screechy note. Many recent covers have flirted with (even if called for in those songs) being cutesy and toying with nauthty/nice for me to think she could still pull this one off, but pull it off she did. The performance reminds me of her "I who have nothing" performance on Idol it was plaintive in a powerful way she brought in her growl in a way that showed a grit of pain and a resentment and her pace was consistent and powerfully patient. Really good. I like that song a lot when it's done right (which is about 1 in 50 covers) and she did it great! RE: Haley joining PMJ for part of European tour - NUG - 03-28-2015 Starting at 2:55 is probably my favorite moment of the song. RE: Haley joining PMJ for part of European tour - Jastal - 03-28-2015 HA! Nug, same for me!!!! Funny how music effects everyone differently!!
