rain - midnightblues - 07-25-2011
Off the subject but we had a nice refreshing thunder storm come over the Houston area. Much needed rain and it cooled off the area about 25 degrees
Oh, and where is everyone, Hope they didn't lose the Haley flame

That's good news. My parents live in Houston and the last time I spoke with them I think they said it had been about 90 days since they had any real rain. What part of the Houston area are you in?
RE: rain - midnightblues - 07-25-2011
North Sypress. I just moved to Tx from California kinda dont like it here. My mom passed in Dec. and she left me with her house.Sure do miss my kids.

Cypress. Northwest Houston. 290 and 1960. That's where my parents are. Didn't use to be so developed. The area has really filled out the last 10-15 years.
Sorry to hear about your mom. Are your children in California? Have you thought about selling the house and moving back? The housing is more expensive there, but you could always move somewhere else that's affordable but not as hot, crowded or flat as Houston.

Calif is crowded and hot also, but the house here is all paid for and the most the house would sell for is 155.000 I have to split it with my sister so that doesnt leave much >My 3 daughters all young woman now 23 24 34 so there doing the own thing young girls yikes. It would be better if i stayed in TX for now, Im not married and not tied down to anyone.Besides there are a lot of sad memories in Calif> So maybe a cool change will do me good.

This summer has been hotter and dryer than normal. Even veteran Texans are eager for the fall weather to arrive.
Things were a little wetter in Houston back in June of 2001:
