Quote:LOS ANGELES (AP) — Overall U.S. music album sales dropped slightly in the first six months of the year, but digital album sales are up more than 13 percent over a year ago.
Tracking firm Nielsen SoundScan said Thursday that 57 million digital albums have been sold so far in 2012, compared to 50 million during the same period last year. Digital album sales comprise 38 percent of all album purchases for the first half of the year.
Adele's Grammy-winning "21" is the top selling CD, both digitally and physically. It claimed the biggest one-week sales of 2012, with 730,000 copies sold in the week following the British singer's Grammy Awards sweep.
Lionel Richie's country duets album, "Tuskegee," came in second with 912,000 units sold to date, outselling Richie's last three studio albums combined.

WOW! We (Haley and the Haliens) really have our work cut out for us. But so much hope in the fact that the styles and talents of both artists are so similar.

Stopped at the local Walmart again yesterday...not one cd of Listen Up. Over the holiday I played the entire deluxe album twice for my sister. The second time she picked up the cd before each song to look at the name of the song...she loved the album and had a number of favorites. I can't even by the deluxe version for her locally.
Walmart has the EPs for this year's top 4 on display now.
