A war hero, an astronaut, a test pilot, an aerospace engineer and university professor. There is so much that can be said about this remarkable man, but what stands out to me personally is his service to his country during the Korean war:
While in the Navy (barely past his teen years, 20-22) the young Armstrong flew 78 missions over Korea for a total of 121 hours in the air. He received the Air Medal for 20 combat missions, a Gold Star for the next 20, and the Korean Service Medal and Engagement Star.

One big step for man, one giant loss for mankind...
In all of human history this man set foot on the moon...Incredible.

One of the moments I remember from long ago.
From the commitment to go to the moon by Kennedy to the landing of the Eagle took less than a decade. If we decided to go back I wonder if we could match that.
