Hey, Im new posting.. not reading.. I was an scout some years ago.. such a life experience, I'll never forget.. Good to read she will be home for birthday! I guess 50+ haliens couldnt ask other than that, so she'll see our gift!

Girl Scouts has been celebrating its 100th birthday all year and will continue the festivities with an inaugural Girl Scout Cookie Classic 5K Run, Walk and Celebration on Saturday, Sept. 8.
The race starts at 9 a.m. and turns into an all-day celebration where Wheeling native and “American Idol” finalist Haley Reinhart will take the stage at 3 p.m. at the Petrillo Bandshell in Grant Park.
“I really always love speaking to kids and telling them to be whatever they aspire to,” said Reinhart, who came in third place on the 10th season of the hit singing competition show.
Reinhart was involved with Girl Scouts as a child and said she looks forward to motivating the younger generation.
She plans to give an inspirational speech to the crowd and sing a few songs off her first album, “Listen Up!” which hit stores in May. Her father and fellow musician, Harry Reinhart, will join her onstage, she said.
The Buckinghams, pop group Savvy, singer/songwriter Melinda Caroll, and The Dreammakers will also perform throughout the day.
Registration for the race is now closed, but to attend the celebration only costs $11 for a registered Girl Scout or $14 for the general public. Children 4 and under are free.
Reinhart has had a busy summer promoting her new album and making her first appearance at Lollapalooza last month.
The young singing star has another reason to be glad to be home in the suburbs this weekend — Reinhart turns 22 on Sunday.
