"Undone" - The Mourning Song - Miguel - 12-14-2012
In the "Inspiring Others" thread, I linked to an anti-drunk-driving video that uses Undone in its soundtrack. I commented that with some tweaks, "Undone might speak to those who are grieving."
This is my attempt at a rewrite:

Well done, Miguel! After today's horrendous tragedy, I was easily moved to tears when I read your re-write.

I also thought of this song when I heard of the tragedy in Newtown and came here this morning to write a post hoping a Youtube video isn't made with Haley's soundtrack and the sad grieving images in the visuals. Maybe thoughts of how disturbing events could be used with "Undone" is why Haley is reluctant to promote it as the always upbeat person she is.

I think I'd be ok if someone did this down the road (a year or so) because the images, right now, of that tragedy, are WAY too fresh in my mind! I agree with you, though, that Haley would not want to become famous due to a song of this nature. She looks on the bright side of side of life; looks for the silver linings. She loves to bring out the best in people and help them to move on.

To me undone is about the death of a relationship where two people have broken up When I heard about that tragedy I became as a dead man trying to put myself along with the grieving parents. As a father there's no way that I could handle something like that MY soul would slide down to die and I would become undone., I stand with the grieving Famileys. And even the parents of the boy who shot these kids, they have lost their son also. IMO

"Oh My" = the honeymoon song
"Free" = the divorce song
"Undone" = the funeral song
"Walking on Heaven" = the resurrection song

You mentioned the resurrection song, Himm2, and my dear friend's son took his own life this past month. I had bought her Listen Up! this past year, and the song she loves most, right now, and plays, is ''walking on heaven''.

I just stumbled upon this Youtube News Clip about the band that Haley's Parents opened for at Viper Alley a year ago and this same band "The Buckinghams" opened for Haley Reinhart at the Grant Park Girl Scouts gig this past summer:
"Kind Of A Drag" made me think about the song "Undone" that Haley resisted having released as her second single. Carl Giammarese & Nick Fortuna thought the record company's choice of that song after a year of waiting to be released as a single wasn't something they wanted to be known for and after a year the Band's contract expired. But the rest is history as it shot up the charts to number one surpassing the Rolling Stones "Ruby Tuesday" and the Monkees "I'm a Believer".
The same thing might happen if "Undone" was released as what happened to "Kind Of A Drag" that has a similar heartbreak theme.
