In this interview, Nigel says he's been wanting to do this for years and is chagrined since XF did it last year that now it will be perceived that AI is 'copying' XF

NO!!!! I hated when XF did that....another reason why this will be the worst AI season ever

He hasn't said he will do it, but I agree..they shouldn't do it.
Even though I lost interest in last year's XF by the time Beatrice Miller and Lyric 145 were ousted, I felt posting the order of votes ended up with an anticlimatic last four or five shows. By that time, you know that Tate or Carly was never going to be knocked off.... The only acts that seemed to make any movement were the girl group (forget their name) and Emblem 3, which happen, coinicidentally, to both be Simon's acts.....

If I were them, I would just declare:
Quote:[BLANK] gained the most votes this week.
[BLANK] lost the most votes this week
(compared to the prior week)
That way you would know who is gaining or losing strength but not necessarily who is at the top and bottom.

See? Now that would work...not show their positions to each other in the standings, but revealing how well they did compared to the previous week. Like for instance, so and so got X% of the total votes while this and that dropped down to this % of the vote for this week
That way you can see surges, like S10, Haley's percentage would grow week after week....
I can see that being exciting rather than the way they did it on last season's XFactor.
Doing it that way, since Tate seemed always in the lead, you would see his % not grow significantly, he was always in the lead ...at least it wouldn't reveal he was clearly ahead the whole time.... Interesting...

It will never happen - Idol will never follow what XFactor does - they have the ratings and will continue on what they have been doing - inserting different drama. All the hype is just that - Uncle Nigel just creating some hype since the new season will be airing soon.
