Babbs says it's OK for me to post her video of last night's Casey Abrams Show (among others) that she braved a snowstorm for the 60 mile drive that Patti Reinhart & I didn't want to challenge:

I wanted to go too, but the snow was too dangerous to drive in, and Joliet is too far. I almost jokeingly (pretend that's a word) asked my mom just to see what she would say, but didnt want to chance her getting mad.

Everyone stood in a line and waited their turn. Casey took his time, and talked with everyone, and took pictures with them. He was friendly and very nice to everyone. I was kind of worried about driving through the snow to see him. I kept thinking this is nuts, but I had a feeling the expressways wouldn't be that bad. When I left my house, the snow was falling and the weathermen were predicting 8-10 inches of snow.
But most of it was north of the city, and we were driving south. The roads were wet but no real snow accumulation on them. So glad I went!I bought a curly smiley face "Casey" t shirt for my son. ( No, I'm not gonna save it like my Haley ones
). But Casey is Jazzy like Haley, and I just love listening to those songs. Putting the jazz inflections (is that how you say it) in songs. He also likes his Beatles too. So, if Haley ain't playing around here, Im gonna enjoy me some Casey with the bassy.
I told him I thought I was 5th in tips for stageit, but never heard from them. I didn't want to put him on the spot and he wasn't sure how many prizes were given out. that's ok. And my son asked him about Jack Black. He said "He is the coooolest guy ever"!!
Kind of an interesting tidbit, Taylor (his bass player) said he lives in Colorado. His roommate had auditioned for the band,(in LA) for Casey, and was hired. They then came to Colorado where Casey heard Taylor play, and hired him too. (I think I got the story right). He still lives in Colorado, and joins Casey for gigs as they happen., kind of like Keith in Florida for Haley.

I was listening and really enjoying Casey's album in my car today. I seem to enjoy his album driving while if I'm walking the dog with headphones on I really listened more to every syllable and phrase .. the charm in his songs is in the catchy melodies ... not enough to chew on when I'm walking but very relaxing when the idiot in front of me does something stupid like the idiots in front of me always do when driving.

Glad you got back safe and sound and some nice bonding time with your son. Is he musically inclined like his Dad? I ask because I liked how Casey was so encouraging to his fan during that Skype video you posted, talking music with her. I wondered if he had pearls of wisdom and encouragement in music for your son too?

They were talking about making the homeless video with Jack Black. And of course we had to keep it short as there were people in line behind us waiting for a pic with Casey.
