American Idol 2014 - Himm2 - 06-23-2013 They mention Haley Reinhart after they ask if Casey Abrams is too recent. Hmmm - same season! Quote:Fire the stars! Some names for me:Tony Bennet a long succes career,Sheryll Crowd good singer and good adviser on S10(IMHO)¿Tina Turner too much expensive?Adam seemed a good choise,Melinda Doolitle or Fantasia Barrino?I loved if H.E.R. will be a judge but I prefer at these time she developed first her career how singer or songwriter or both. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: American Idol 2013 - kaypea - 06-23-2013 Adam is a good choice. His decision would, like any of the ones mentioned be based alot on how much he or she might feel they need it for a career boost.I'd love to see Melinda there.Tony Bennett certainly doesn't need a career boost at this point and he likes performing too much-he also turns 87 this year so it would be hard to see that happening. RE: American Idol 2014 - Himm2 - 07-01-2013 http://www.wetpaint.com/american-idol/articles/2013-06-06-fox-taps-david-hill-oversee-american-idol-x-factor?fb_pid=1372451510283511&utm_campaign=vrl&utm_medium=fnpg-ai&utm_source=facebook.com Following the departure of alternative programming head Mike Darnell back on May 24, a source close to the situation tells The Hollywood Reporter that the network has appointed one of its own to step in and oversee American Idol and X Factor. David Hill, a senior executive Vice President at News Corp. and a longtime fixture at Fox, where he ran Fox Sports Media Group, helped launch Fox Sports Japan, and advised for the company, will take on a network-producer relationship with the network's two singing competition shows. David will serve as the network’s point person for the producers and will search for someone to take Mike's place in running reality programming overall. Chairman and CEO of Fox Networks Group Peter Rice and Fox Entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly reportedly chose David because of his experience with live events. "They see a strong transition in David. These shows are well-oiled machines in some cases," a source said. "He’ll serve as the main person from the network who’ll focus on them while a new as-yet-undetermined reality head will focus on development while getting up to speed on everything already in production and the pipeline." David's skills with revolutionizing the sports-viewing experience could prove handy when it comes to season 13 of Idol. The latest rumor to come out of the American Idol 2014 reboot V 13.0 is that mega producers Jesse Ignjatovic and Evan Prager have been signed on to the show as producers for 19 Entertainment. The pair, who have a production company called Den of Thieves, would join newly hired showrunner Per Blankens, who was previously the producer of Swedish Idol. The hiring of these two producing heavyweights make total sense when one considers that the ultimate goal is to get Idol back to the ratings juggernaut it once was...or at least close to it. These two have the experience in giving shows total makeovers, as they took over production for MTV Movie Awards last year, beating out The Voice’s Mark Burnett. They have also produced VH1’s “Divas” concert, the CMT Music Awards, and MTV’s Video Music Awards, so their resume is anything but light. Overseeing it all will be veteran sports producer David Hill, who is another new hire by FOX after chief reality exec Mike Darnell left suddenly in May. After the firing of Nigel Lythgoe and Ken Warwick, it seems that the producing part of Idol is pretty well fleshed out, but there are still giant question marks when it comes to the judges table. Keith Urban is the only one left who hasn’t confirmed an exit from the show, so he still may be a possibility for season 13. Jennifer Hudson’s $4-5 million contract has been hammered out but not executed, as the judge hiring process was put on hold with the reorganization of the producing and executive teams. We also know Kelly Clarkson turned down the role of judge, so it remains to be seen whether the rumor of an all-alum panel will come to fruition. One thing we do know for sure is that lovable and uber professional host Ryan Seacrest will be back, as he was one more year on his contract. ds - Outcast - 07-09-2013 I think Candice just might be the last female winner ever: http://www.americanidol.com/news/now-you-can-audition-with-your-guitar RE: American Idol 2014 - Miguel - 07-23-2013 They had a low turnout at the first couple of auditions.
