50 yrs. since the Beatles Ed Sullivan show - Himm2 - 01-31-2014
February 9, 1964 My oldest (15 year old) sister came home screaming that she just bought the "Introducing the Beatles" record album and my 4 sisters & I started watching the Ed Sullivan Show that night to see the Beatles TV debut on American Television. My crusty old strict German father came in the room with a mop on his head singing "YEAH, YEAH, YEAH!!!!". I think he too was hooked on the craze.

Speaking of the first song they sung "All My Lovin'" here is Haley & Casey's version the first time those two sang it which has over 33,000 views on my Youtube upload:
Here's all the Beatles appearances on Ed Sullivan:

That's a bit of a shame. I came here to post that I didn't realize Katy was capable of such pretty vocals. (And I like Katy..but you know..singing isn't her best attribute.)

So cool. Personally, I think it's so amazing/coincidental/etc. that the 50th anniversary of The Beatles first appearance (on the Ed Sullivan Show) is on a Sunday, which for you youngsters, was on Sunday. Probably a "stupid " factoid, but there it is.

It was an AWESOME show tonight!!
Fun fact: One of my friends (and probably Haley's friend too!) from Beatlefest was sitting right behind Yoko and Sean and I saw her on tv!

Katy Perry Blasted for Changing Beatles Song
Her whole performance
Peter Frampton is the bald/grey one of the two guitarists sitting to Katy's left
This performance had good and not so good parts, but it was mostly good and Alicia Keys still looks amazing
Annie Lennox, Dave Stewart, Eurythmics reunion.... not perfect, but I REALLY enjoy Annie Lennox
If you took the Beatles' ground breaking "Revolution" and poured gallons of honey on it, it might look something like this:
Keith Urban and John Mayer cover a song I hope Haley will cover one day
Joe Walsh (Eagles) and Jeff Lynne (ELO) are two of my all time rockers and are joined by Dhani Harrison, George's son, on one of his Father's Iconic songs
RE: 50 yrs. since the Beatles Ed Sullivan show - mercfan3 - 02-10-2014
I thought the criticism for changing the word from she to he were a little unfair. It's really common for female vocalists who cover that song to say "he." It's not like Katy's afraid of singing about women.
BTW: Anyone remember Syesha's cover of that song. Beautiful.
