I guess, being these numbers are so HUGE but don't seem to mean anything... it's sort of like thinking you won a million dollars, when it turns out you actually won a million pesos

I think it is mostly just name recognition and positive exposure. Who knows what a FB view is worth, but not a lot. 27 million is something although less than what the number would seem to imply. I think a lot of people look at FB through the day and when a friend links to the video they check it out. But even when the person likes the song and the video it is likely to end right there, perhaps with a Like click. Maybe a comment like "That was cool, I wondered what Haley was up to. She has an amazing voice." Back to work for a while, then a cool video of some kid doing an outrageous stunt off a moving trampoline comes along and that is the new focus.

I tend to think it's sort of a FB 'psychology', sharing things and liking things, sort of a media/data transitionary network which also lends itself to 'oh that was yesterday's news' kind of short attention span mentality...
it's the one social media platform I can't get myself to engage in from it's lengthy history of shenanigans.
(I know Google is as bad, if not worse, but Google has made itself a 'necessary evil' in many ways, so it's a boil I have to live with
)

Many of the YouTube views for the "Creep" video were generated because it trended on Facebook for three days early on.

Kai FB post just keeps chugging along. Not the big viral numbers but I count 89 shares in the past hour. There is a wide geographical representation among the viewers.
