*Crosses fingers that they don't use "'American Idol' Alum" in the headline*

And, for me, the only thing that would make this whole thing even "better"...

...is if they put "Imagine" on it as a hidden bonus track!!!!

You Listening Up, Concord??? You still have time, it doesn't come out for 3 months!!!

I think this collection is very cool, I love so many of the choices. "These Boots Were Made for Walkin' " by Haley...OH MY. People love Haley with PMJ (hello Scott) and Casey (two tracks) and I think Concord also knows that redoing covers is a smart move. She has tried two original music CDs that were terrific, but did not really break through. So why not try this approach? My hope is that this will lead people to discover or rediscover her other CDs. So excited for this...cant wait.

I absolutely agree with your point, and the direction (and likely intent) of this record. Above all, Haley has shown two qualities which distinguish her: 1) supreme, and nearly unmatched, vocal talent (including a very unique tone to her voice), and 2) the ability to interpret songs in new, unique, and beautiful ways. The first is obvious to the discerning listener basically every time they hear her sing-- and which can be very addictive (as we all know!). Instances of the second are too numerous to mention, but include many performances on Idol, CHFIL, all her PMJ work, and loads of various other performances/concerts, including both Better tours. Over and over and over again, Haley has shown the ability to breath new life into a song. How many times have you thought to yourself that you liked HER version of the song better than the original? The evidence of that (beyond her dedicated fans) is written all over the internet-- in comments on YT, FB, etc. This album of mostly covers is an astute strategy to get her a wider audience, to connect with a broader sprectrum of potential listeners. I'm super excited for Haley, her current fans and her soon-to-be fans!!!

So if you have a vinyl record on the cover, you have to press some vinyl, no? And that takes until Sept. Am I right, Haley?

Feb 2015:

Quote:"It's definitely been frustrating watching the turnaround times go from a couple months to sometimes over six months at most plants," says Dixon. "I've stopped even setting release dates because there's no way I can know when it will actually arrive."

Are "Let's Start" and "Somewhere in Between" original songs?

The song Words of Love could also be a Mama & Papas tune from 1966.

As a choice for a first single I like the fact that BIY allows Haley to showcase a lot of range in her vocal. Even in the short clips she goes from soft and tender, to her power notes. Heart

I'm getting a suspicion that Concord may release a vinyl version of the album. They have done so for other artists and they just liked this comment I made on Haley's Facebook post:
"The only thing Better than digital or CD would be Vinyl...scratches and all."

Yep. I had been wondering about the distinctive Haley growl at the end of the song (you see in the Euro tour videos)-- hoping it wouldn't be toned down. This latest clip showcased that part of the song. Loved it!
