AI compared to X-FACTOR - My Alter Ego - 11-22-2011

Oh, I don't know about that. If Haley had laid prone on her back and pushed her body through the legs of six female dancers wearing form-fitting leather leotards and knee-high boots as he did it might have added something.

Well, Miguel, perhaps you are correct. Personally, I find the X Factor overproduction to be annoying and prefer the AI focus on the contestant. And while generally I enjoy Marcus Canty, his voice just doesn't have the raw quality that this song begs for. Therefore, I prefer Haley's rendition.

What I don't like about X Factory is the camera shots are done from so far away. I mean at times you can barely make out the performer they are so far away much less observe if their performances are decent or not. Hell, even when they do close ups of the performers it appears that they are zooming in from a long distance away. I much prefer the much closer camera angles on AI than I do on X Factor, as you get a much better feel and sense of the performances. Indeed, if they don't fix that pretty soon I'm probably going to give up watching. Indeed, the past couple of shows have gotten a little too boring for me.
Oh also on AI I like when they flash to the proud and gushing parents in the audience occasionally. I enjoyed watching the parents of the contestants week to week as well. You don't get any of that on X Factor.

Thanks, Miguel. I was a bit suspicious of your idea that Haley crawling under the legs of several women would have beneficial to her, but since I don't know you personally, I just wasn't sure.
On a different note, I tried to make a new thread (perhaps that wasn't the best approach) to convey a Happy Thanksgiving to all who frequent this site. I wasn't successful because, once again, my internet provider seems to be failing me.

I think the X Factor performances are way overproduced. The judges interactions are getting ridiculous. That Steve Jones guy is hard to take. I'm done watching, I'll check out Josh and Melinda on YouTube.

The X-FACTOR seems to be more about "Look at the spectacle we created, this is a really big deal!" than the singers.
It's like they tried to give the show its own x-factor

Interesting perspective. I think that you may be right. The focus is certainly not about the contestants.
