Frankly, I don't recognize the tune from the 11-year old Jessica. She's definitely done some physical and a little vocal maturing (16 year old Jessica) but still does not grab me.
But who knows what happens in the Idol Machine? ( And I give you Season 10 winner who seemed to know only one song in the earliest phases and botched lyrics ("nuts of wonder"??) during the crucible period of getting to the live shows.
But since she's Hispanic, she won't fit into the WGWG model that has been the rage for AI voters for several years, so what's the point?

If that Philippines trek was profitable for the Idol tour this past season, it's likely Jessica Sanchez will make the Top 10. As she told someone questioning her singing the National Anthem: "for your information, yes I'm Filipino & Mexican, but also born in America....I'm an American so what is so funny about me singing the American National Anthem????"

American Idol whipped out the Jessica Sanchez card tonight and she immediately became a trending topic on Twitter due to tweets by people impressed by her and others who knew her from the Internet or America's Got Talent.
She seems to have an established fanbase that could really help her.

Yeah, I saw her tonight and my impression is there is Jessica Sanchez and then there is everybody else. She has to be the overwhelming favorite to win it.

That performance reminds me of Haley's “GBTC” performance last season. By the way, I'd love to hear Haley singing and growling that song. In fact that song is made for Haley's voice and style of singing.
Additionally, that Deandre Brackensick fella isn't too bad himself, but I don't know if he will be able to find the right kind of songs to sing to keep up with Jessica.
