Pia recorded 40 songs already and still going - John Brown - 02-08-2012 Pia says she has recorded already 40 songs so for and is still recording. Also, she says she is still in Artist Development, but says her album will be released soon. Pia does a regular video blog on her website. I wish Haley would get with Pia and learned how to do that. RE: Pia recorded 40 songs already and still going - Miguel - 02-08-2012 She indicates she has recorded so many songs because she is still evolving as an artist and they want the project to be "a perfect representation of who I am." Tying this back to Haley... It was in November when she said the album was taking on a "Motown sound with hip-hop beats." Lately, the words "rock" and "jazz" have seemed to gain prominence along with "funky" soul. I'm thinking the album might have evolved. Maybe into something more energetic and fun. RE: Pia recorded 40 songs already and still going - fover - 02-09-2012 If Haley recorded 30 songs towards an album to be released in May, and Pia recorded 40 songs towards an album to be released "soon", then that tells me Haley is way ahead of Pia in her professional development. But of course we already knew that. But of course we already knew that. It seems they rushed a single out by Pia ahead of the Idol tour last summer and she has been in and out of the studio since, but it hasn't come together. Pia has a beautiful voice but needs to let loose. She likes to color inside the lines and it comes off nice, but boring. Haven't seen much growth in Pia. The timing has worked out well for Haley. She was able to go into the studio with all the AI stuff behind her. I imagine her recording experience as being something like her time on AI -- a little bumpy in the beginning with a rapid learning curve where she gains control of the situation and wins over many admirers (and leaves a few others in the dust). Maybe ... but that's hard to imagine with Pia, particularly going back to that statement "a perfect representation." I think that "perfect" is the -- perfect way to way to talk about Pia. The very beautiful Pia with not a strand of hair out of place and absolutely "perfect" makeup... I think back to her Idol days (shockingly limited as they were) and I remember the clip of her talking about her father's advice to "practice, practice, practice." Mind you, music requires practice if one is to achieve anything with it (yes, Durbin, I'm talking about you), but what it should do is give one the foundation to be able to do anything with it (think of Julie Andrews teaching her charges "Do Re Mi" in The Sound of Music). Jazz requires spontaneity -- and, sometimes, it won't be perfect. Spontaneity and Pia are incongruous to me. I don´t know what to make of Pia recording 40 songs and still workin´in the studio....It sounds like the label hasn´t found the right sound for her. I am not sure if she comes from a musical background that could give her sense of direction towards her style or sound, but it has to be very disapponting for her to have spent almost a year now without releasing her work (with the exception of "This time" ![]() I am rooting for her and think that if Interscope has spent that amount of time and resources on her, they will promote her well when the time comes. Wishful thinking! RE: Pia recorded 40 songs already and still going - Miguel - 02-11-2012 FRONTLINE demo Quote:Composers: I thought that might be pre-Idol. Nope: Quote:Westlake Studios - LA ![]() RE: Pia recorded 40 songs already and still going - Shela - 02-11-2012 I only see one version available and it´s not Pia´s.... RE: Pia recorded 40 songs already and still going - Miguel - 02-11-2012 They took it down, but it looks like a Pia fan snagged it before they did to make this video: This was the product of a songwriting exercise: Quote:Interscope recording artist Pia Toscano (American Idol) co-wrote the song “Front Line” with ole/Roots Three writer Steven Lee Olsen and Anders Grahn from Roasting House Publishing in Sweden, for which she cut a demo during the camp. (Ole) RE: Pia recorded 40 songs already and still going - John Brown - 02-11-2012 @PiaToscano Pia Toscano Hey all.. I know some of u may have heard a rough and not produced demo of my song Front Line that was NOT supposed to be released and... @PiaToscano Pia Toscano Is now taken taken care of... However, I appreciate all the positive feedback it's getting.. Wait until you hear it now.. Stay tuned ![]() Anyway, I'm glad you guys got it because when I tried to access it earlier it had already been taken down. By the way, it sounds pretty damn good to me for not being produced. Too bad we don't have a bootleg copy of “Free.” But I don't know if we should do that since it is Haley. There's bound to be a teaser released pretty soon I would imagine. Perhaps some of you guys with twitter accounts should request from Haley that since the release of her debut single has been delayed, TPTB should at least release a little teaser to keep us pacified.
