« Stay out of my brain waves John! But seriously, thanks for that post with the Smith Vid. It's a shame Smith were a one hit wonder. I like that version of "Baby It's You" way better than the Beatles and the Shirelles versions. Home girl OWNS this song! (I always forget how many great songs Burt Bacharach wrote.)

That's Leslie Uggams doing the intro for Smith! Wow, she was a major hottie back then. I met her briefly a few years ago in Pasadena California at small theatre where she was playing Lena Horne in the biography/musical called Stormy Weather. She wasn't very attractive or nice but she was totally awesome on stage playing the older Lena Horne (although her singing was... hmmm... let’s just she say she does a better Uggams than Horne).

That, unfortunately, is far too easy to believe. While Leslie Uggams had a fine voice, there was always a certain attitude about her. Trying to lose herself into someone else, doesn't fit into the "Leslie Uggams" attitude I remember.

On the other hand, maybe she's just not much of an actress.

Me and Bobby McGee...

Besides the "ummms" and the "you knows" and the adorkableness, we get a lot of "me and my family, me and casey, etc. Haley was not an English major. There must be some kind of connection between Haley and Janis Joplin...it may have to do with "Me and Bobby McGee"...Tongue

RE: Music Videos - LovinDaHaley - 07-18-2012

"Me and Bobby McGee" and "Me and Casey" are both examples of correct grammar (technically speaking); however, most grammarians concur that you put yourself last when “I” or “me” is part of a compound subject or object. I suppose that it’s just the polite thing to do. "Me first" is often viewed as a bad attitude in life, as it is in grammar, too. You can hope Haley figure that out someday, but you can't really say her grammar is wrong in this regard.
