Maybe Canada? Just a guess because the videos she linked to are blocked in the United States.
Looking at her other entries, she has a 12-year-old brother who goes to school in the United States. She did too when she was younger.

Something that occurred to me awhile back, and I don't think that I've mentioned, is that if Haley wasn't going to win the whole thing, I'm glad that she placed third, rather than second. The person who is runner up doesn't get the opportunity to sing a swan song. Would we have wanted to miss that version of BATJ?

That's a good point I've never heard raised before.
We would not have wanted to miss that performance. As the writer put it, "I almost wasn’t upset that she’d been cut anymore."

(I'm the original author of the article, by the way, which is why I'm freaking out. Nothing to see here! Just general insanity).
Thank you all so much - I really appreciate that people took the time to read the post! Particularly since it's so long (but there's so much to say about Haley). It means a lot to know that fellow Haliens saw the article and enjoyed it.
And I'm sorry the videos aren't working. I didn't realize that was happening at all. It must be because I'm in Canada right now. I had no idea that youtube videos posted north of the border wouldn't work down in the States. I wonder if there's any way to get around that...

Noooo, we would not want to miss that version of BATJ. Although presumably, Haley would have sung it as her repeat performance on finale night - but it wouldn't have been her final moment on the show. And as final moments go, I don't think Haley's has been topped. I think it was incredible in large part because it was an exit performance - because she threw everything she had into it. There's such a feeling of joy and catharsis - and her improvisation is brilliant - and I don't think we would have gotten those things in a repeat performance.
It was the perfect way to end her run.
Well, okay, it was the second-best way to end her run. The best way would have been the victory (Sadly, I am still not over her loss).

If you didn't notice we fans of Haley are a "little obssessed" and we have some great resources for all things Haley, scouring the interwebs, including the host of this blog, Miguel
. Always great to have more fans join...Haley's talent is to share, not hide away, she's too brilliant a personality for that.BTW, I might add to the Swan Song comments...notice even though it was supposed to be a moment of triumph for Lauren and Scotty, the camera couldn't/wouldn't get away from Haley...until Ryan called it back to the stage..LOL
