RE: Idol airplay chart - Mr. Bill - 04-09-2012
Hi all,
Not new to the site, but newly registered. I've been "lurking" for months, reading all the news and comments but just sitting back and listening. I finally registered the other day. Hey everyone!
This is good news. She may not have a runaway hit with "Free" but it is slowly gaining plays. My prediction is that she will have radio hits with at least two of those songs we've heard: "Now That You're Here" and "Wasting Tears" most likely. Remember: Adam Lambert's first single was "For Your Entertainment" and no one thinks about that now!
Go Haley!

Hey, nice to have you here! Will Gumby be joining too?

Welcome Mr. Bill,
Don't forget the one single that many people who aren't sure of Haley's radio viability are waiting for, "Oh My" with B.O.B. There are quite a few people who are waiting for that song to decide how they feel about Haley, the brand.

Yes I'm pretty interested to hear that one, too. I admit I have stopped trying to figure out what makes something "radio friendly" in this day and age, because it doesn't seem to make any sense. There are so many amazing songs that never get played and so many far less than amazing ones that get worn out.
All I know is that I've played "Now That You're Here" for a bunch of friends and each of them walks around humming it the rest of the day. :-) To me, that's radio friendly. And not to say anything negative about "Free," which is a fantastic first single. I could not be more pleased with everything I've heard from the album so far.
Thanks for the welcome, all! And no, I did not bring Gumby along for this particular ride. :-)

Welcome from out in the cold and into the warmth emanating from the glow of Haley Reinhart.

Tweets indicate "Free" was played today on MTV Hits.
Quote:MTV Hits Top 10 Countdown: Premieres on Monday and features the network's Top 10 music videos based on an unknown criteria.
Quote:MTV Hits is an American music video channel that debuted on May 1, 2002. The format of the network resembles that of the classic MTV before the addition of other programming to that network in the 1990s and their slow decline of music video programming. The network has a schedule dominated by videos, with only promotional advertising for MTV Networks and limited commercials on the network. Like the other digital MTV/VH1 channels, MTV Hits is based on an automated wheel schedule introduced in the first years of MTV2. The loop repeats three times a day, starting at 6am Eastern, and then resetting at 2pm and 10pm.
