My stupid moment of today - Haleylvr4evr - 04-16-2012
Funny story.....
Making rolls to practice for my baking test this weekend and they didnt turn out. Now Im trying it again and halfway through the process I realize the flour I'm using is almost 20 YEARS OLD!!! That would explain why they dont taste good and dont look like real bread. We'll see how this batch turns out and then tomorrow get new flour from the store. hahaa

In the pantry with everything else. Guess we have to pay attention to expiration dates now

I'm majoring in "baking and pastry arts" for college and on saturday I have part 1 of my final exam where we have to make stuff all by ourselves

I understand baking is mostly science (the reactions in the oven). So pay attention to the details.
Good luck on your test.

Lesson learned. They say that we only learn from our failures. I don't necessarily agree with that but for some reason that tends to be what most people will remember. So I suspect you will always check for such things in the future.
Best of luck on your test!
