"Hit the Road Jack" glimpse - Miguel - 06-06-2012 Haley performs "Hit the Road Jack" with Casey on his album that is due out later this month. This lengthy AI interview gives us a taste. At about 3:28, you can hear Haley singing in the background as Casey talks about the drummer and the song. Then we see them recording together in the studio. http://www.americanidol.com/videos/season_11/special_guests/casey_abrams_simple_life/ RE: "Hit the Road Jack" glimpse - buzzenator - 06-06-2012 Great find, thx Miguel. I love the jazzy sound of Haley on Hit The Road Jack. Looks like I have to buy a Casey album to get more Haley and some nice material from Casey. ![]() RE: "Hit the Road Jack" glimpse - LovinDaHaley - 06-06-2012 ^ Agreed. Hit the Road Jack Duet is a bit reminiscent of the Moaning duet. LOVE IT! Maybe we'll get really treated and they'll do a video for it. I will definitely be adding Hit the Road Jack to my iPod playlist. RE: "Hit the Road Jack" glimpse - Miguel - 06-06-2012 I loved it too - the humming, the bit of a growl, her tone... I'd buy an album of nothing but classic covers if Haley put one out. RE: "Hit the Road Jack" glimpse - Flask Man - 06-06-2012 Sultry jazz Haley. It's my favorite Haley. I will be buying that. RE: "Hit the Road Jack" glimpse - gillyking - 06-06-2012 Most definitely would support this album and would totally buy anything corrobrative including Haley. Those two know each other so well musically, that it's just a natural fit. Thanks for this one Miguel.. RE: "Hit the Road Jack" glimpse - Haleylvr4evr - 06-07-2012 I'm really excited for this! His whole cd will be amazing and Haley will make it even more special for us! RE: "Hit the Road Jack" glimpse - john - 06-07-2012 From that little taste of the song it sounds like another Haley-Casey winner. I love what I heard. It was: Quote:Billboard Hot 100 number one single RE: "Hit the Road Jack" glimpse - My Alter Ego - 06-07-2012 (06-07-2012, 03:21 PM)john Wrote: From that little taste of the song it sounds like another Haley-Casey winner. I love what I heard. Me too! It's not a song I've ever cared for (much too repititious and, thus, tedious), but they've "funkified" it -- well, Casey says it's got a hip hop beat. (Interestingly, after listening again, I get a quasi-reggae feel, as well. Is that what hip hop is - a merging of funk and reggae, with vocalists who are too cool [or can't carry a tune] to sing? I quit trying to keep up with "popular" music when hip hop/rap/grunge seemed to take over what had once had a bit of musicality to it.) Anyway, I can't wait to hear the entire song (and album). I never cared for the song, but it sounds fresh and different in this sample. I never liked Bennie and the Jets either -- until Haley sang it her way. Note the stand up bass in the room we saw earlier this year in the photo with the various instruments. I figured it was there somewhere. ![]() |
