What I find interesting is that the home is traditional looking but most of the art on the walls is modern.

I see an actual manual typewriter in one of your pics.....LOL
I remember taking typing classes way back when on the manual typewriters and wondering .... "When will we EVER have to learn how to type?". One year later our school was offering classes in Basic language and writing computer programs .....LOL

^ Wow Tom, what a commitment and nice job! I can appreciate the project having been a custom home builder most of my life. My fondest childhood memory is the tree house my father built in a big oak tree on the 4-1/2 acres we grew up on...I go back to the old neighborhood but the oak tree is gone.

@Tusk - manual typewriter was fun for the kids but what a nightmare any typing was in college ... 10 and 15 page papers using white out for typos... I had an electric typywriter then though but learned on a manual. I've got the same memories.

@lovin - I did that webisite from scratch back around 2005 ... I've sat on my hands with too much intent and not enough action the last few years ... they have all this modular stuff these days that can do so much more without typing every line of simple code for each page (some cut and pasting) making that site and the work involved almost as antiquated as using a typewriter. Everymonth I plan to do some stuff on the web and every month I put it off

@buzz It did take some thinking that was for sure. (and the materials were far from free too.. really its like building a cantelevered deck on a hill side house with some steps, but needing to brainstorm methods along the way). The craziest thing about it was that I had Zero help.. no one holding a tape measure or holding the 16 and 20 foot 4x4s in place. I used a rope to hoist up a few of the walls I framed and paneled and varnished on the ground. I screwed in temporary cribs etc.. I had a crazy lot of energy in 2005, I don't think I could lift half the weight today.

I've probably been doing too much chatting on the web the last few years instead of doing stuff in my spare time that takes effort.

Watching Haley and other young kids hustle to get head at their pesonal goals sometimes reminds me how rewarding that sort of effort can be at all sorts of personal levels even when the hour to hour efforts aren't always a party hour to hour. I have coached my kids soccer teams in my spare time which is sort of in the same class but I need to keep that energy throughout the year and stop procrastinating. It's not really rational but it is easy to let discouragment from rough years in business and diminished expectations to take hold and become self fufilling.

Now, what does that have to do with Kelly Clarkson's house?... she had a treehouse ... and ( He he) I had built a better one.. no platinmum records but the treehouse was doable. : )
