RE: Music Videos - Cool, Clever, Fun, Artistic, Odd or Just Plain Silly
Another good suggestion MAE, thank you. I watched Young Frankenstein and had some great laughs. Gene Wilder and Terri Garr sure made for a great romantic comedy team (excellent screen chemistry and timing). And I almost died laughing during the scene when Gene Hackman spilled the soup in Peter Boyle's lap. Not to mention how Marty Feldman's Igor had me chuckling almost nonstop throughout the entire movie. I could go on and on. Good one! Thanks.
Hi ho, hi ho, it's back to the "MTV Madness Music Video Marathon" I go.
Taco - Puttin' On the Ritz
John Mellencamp - Hurts So Good
Tom Petty – Don’t Come Around Here No More

Blazing Saddles is Mel Brooks at his best. I'm glad that you enjoyed it and I'm glad that I played a small part in getting you to watch it. You should probably watch Young Frankenstein and maybe The Producers (either one or both), if you haven't already seen that, but other than that, I wouldn't recommend a lot of the movies MB did following Saddles and Frankenstein. Most of them were quite disappointing. In the ultra sensitive 'politically correct' days we live in, Blazzing Saddles would never have been made or shown. Some of the scenes would have been called racist by the 'hyper sensitives' without looking at the undertones of irony in their context. I bet many people didn't know that Richard Pryor was a writer for the movie....

Heck I don't even know if Mel Brooks would have a career if he were to make many of his movies today.
Good god Teri Garr was hot in the day.. Even better she had great comedic timing too.

Tusk, I would agree with you regarding Mel Brooks career. In fact, I was a little surprised when The Producers had its big revival a few years back.
I also agree with you in regards toTeri Garr. I always wondered why she didn't make "leading lady" status in comedies -- she certainly had both the looks and the great timing. I loved her in Tootsie -- she just had a small part, but was oh so good. (Of course, I loved Bill Murray in that show as well.)

I just stumbled across this video and first thought it best not to post, but then I became overwhelmed by a feeling of duty to treat the boys who love the "Bangles" for all the wrong reasons
Susanna Hoffs - All Nighter (A Classic B Movie Scene)

Bangles fan here, but I have to admit that Susanna Hoffs, while cute, wasn't my cuppa of the group. I was into the guitars then, and maybe why I was more on the Vicki Peterson camp....
....and HOLY FULL CIRCLE LovinDa, with your 'Runaways' posts (Joan Jett et al), my favorite Bangles' song was sung by Michael Steele formerly offfffff...... (drum roll)....
THE RUNAWAYS!!!
That band didn't get the recognition for their music as they should. They were more viewed as a gimmick..."a girl band".... If I remember they were compared alot with the Go Go's but their music was more rock oriented where the Go Go's were pop... "Hazy Shade of Winter" from the movie "Less than Zero" might have been their pinnacle
Love that guitar riff
