WM return policy/process?

Pretty sure you pay for the items before they ship them to the store. If you didn't pick them up and return them, you're likely out the money you put up.

Goes without saying you pay upfront. If you don't take possession then they have to refund the money, especially if you tell them you no longer want them. Hence, the return policy for any reason...you return them before you pick them up, but now they are at the store... Makes sense to a Swede, and we actually discovered America long before that Italian guy. The Swedes also discovered that people we're already here, so they went back home for awhile.

They will probably come from the warehouse bundled in one package that they would just slap a label on and ship back. If you opened the package and then returned the CDs in just their shrinkwrap they would be more likely to be placed on the shelf at the store.

At some point there are lines that get crossed.

The problem with being too cute is that you eventually need to pay the piper.

There is a difference between "gaming the system" and abusing the system . Buying two similar items and bringing them home knowing you'll return one after seeing how it looks in your living room might be gaming the system. Maybe the retailer would support that (it results in a sale at a somewhat higher cost giving the labor expense of restockign the returned item) maybe they wouldn't. Buying something knowing you're going to use it during the return permitted period and returning it is just plain wrong in my book.

It all comes down to intent and also thinking of the general welfare of everyone, not just you and the store. If too many people did that, you wouldn't have that lengthy return period that allowed truly disatified people to return things that they found to their surprise didn't really work for them.

Now, buying he cds and returning them might have a well meaning purpose. Perhaps you're thinking that Walmart will make more money than they think if they stock more Haley cds. I can see a place where reasonable people would disagree with that. And we can all have "plausible denyability" places to rationalize things. Maybe I wouldn't lose any sleep ordering 10 , returning 5 and keeping 5 but still its a bit too cute for me to feel good about.

Still, at some point expoiting the system is going to create changes to a system that comlicate things for everyone.

On top of that, I don't think that its the way to any real gains in popularity or exposure. Cheapening my sense of being a good citizen for questionable gain for someone I'd like to help really wouldn't pan out for me personaly.

No huge "biggie" . I expressed myself and left room for differences.

Sometimes I feel like there are situations where "no one said anything" and you know, I'm the kind of guy that's the one thats gonna make sure a consideration doesn't go "un-said".

That doesn't mean everyone needs to agree... often it just keeps people from getting carried away or tweaks plans a bit in consideration of this or that..

However, I think you were a tad OTT with that whole protecting capitalism from the economic terrorists who maybe abusing the return policies. I get that way when I have too much coffee...not the terrorist thing but the global problem solver thing.

And Miguel with the humor...I'm texting Haley to add "Oh, Mr. Comedian" to her list of Miguel descriptions she has stashed just beneath that beautiful head of hair.
