Haley Reinhart - "Oh My" - New Single? Coming Soon?

I saw this at cartermatt.com, usually a pretty reliable source for information. Is the part below that I bolded official?

Haley’s “Undone” video – Haley Reinhart has just unveiled a new lyric video for her track “Undone,” and for many this video comes as a bit of a surprise. Why? This song is not her next single (that honor goes to “Oh My!” featuring B.o.B), and usually the honor of lyric videos typically goes to songs that are getting put out on the radio.

However, there is a reason for this video’s release — this song was featured in the latest “Step Up” movie, and this is a way for Haley to get some more official promotion for the song just in case people are looking for it online. This is why so much of this video is dance-related.

Oh, and if you didn’t already know, we love this song.

He does a good job of keeping up with news about Haley but isn't the first to break it. I think he missed HaleyScoop's clarification after Lolla that Haley said she hopes "Oh My" will be her next single, not that it definitely is.

The only problem with "Oh, My!" being the next single is the promo's without B.O.B. We know Haley can do the rap but if B.O.B. is a selling point, it will be absent during promo performances. I personally prefer "Undone" but maybe if they do a killer video. . .

I decided to do an experiment. I put both Free and Oh My! away for 2 weeks, so that they wouldn't be fresh in my mind.

I'll admit that I'm slightly biased because I want Oh My! as the next single but when I heard them both Free really doesn't compare.

Don't get me wrong I enjoyed Free, but when I listened again, the hook wasn't as strong as I remembered, and IMO the song just doesn't GRAB you. I've heard arguements that the piano grabs people but IMO, Oh My! engages me right away with that blast of funky brass.

IMO, disregarding the hook, that blast of brass alone could sell the song. I'm not sure if the song would fit on the wasteland of dance/euro pop currently run on CHR, but I believe that it is distinct enough to catch attention and, hopefully, listeners' interest.

I encourage everybody to do the same. It might "free" your minds.

For the people who think that the song's success will be attributed to B.O.B, I say Who Cares?? Anything that gets Haley's name out there is a win. They can worry about establishing her with Undone.

Finally, for those doubting Oh My!'s ability to catch attention, I played 3 seconds of Oh My! to my brother one late, jetlagged night. About two weeks later I played it again, and he recognized the song as the one I showed him earlier so i truly believe the song is catchy.

I took a "Listen Up!" sabbatical shortly after Casey's album came out and stuck to listening to that for a couple of weeks.

When I went back to listen to LU again, the piano to "Free" still get's the hairs on my arms to stand up. Maybe it's sentimental, I still think that "Free" was a good choice (maybe because it was the song she picked first on tour) as an intro single, framing the music that would follow.

I liked OM more than I did too, and I wouldn't be upset if she were to perform the rap, from now on. (I kind of laugh watching her perform it and thinking about when she performed and messed up the fast verse in YOK on AI.... She could have really messed up that rap on top of dancing all over the stage with how quick the rap was.)

Undone, on the other hand, I liked a little less. It has the best example on LU of Haley's pure voice , but in a few ways, IMO, it is the least creative song.

Following "Free", another heartache/ relationship/break up song..."Undone" would be too similar...OM offers a change of pace from "Free" that "Undone" cannot.

^^Well, it's pretty easy for us to sit back and wax philosophical or be the musical equivalent of a Monday morning quarterback, but Tusk, I do agree with your point about releasing "Undone" as a second single (even though, in a way it has been) following "Free." To do so, would be the antithesis of the message that Haley seems to want to send.
