Lemont High School is participating in State Farm’s "Celebrate My Drive" to promote safe teen driving.

As a result of the promotion, which runs through Friday, State Farm Insurance will give away a $100,000 grant to the area high school that receives the most votes.

...Head over to Yorktown Shopping Center at Highland Avenue and Butterfield Road in Lombard for the "Celebrate My Drive" on-site event from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. The fun and festivities will take place on the lower level near Marshalls/HomeGoods. Park near Lucky Strike and take the escalator down.

...The event will feature hands-on exhibits, roll-over and driving simulators, golf carts to simulate distracted/impaired driving and more.

Chicago Bulls star Taj Gibson will also be on hand from 2 to 4 p.m. and American Idol sensation Haley Reinhart will appear from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Lombard is about 25 miles south of Wheeling.

I'm guessing this will be another low-key performance with her father.

The mall opened in 1968. After Montgomery Wards went bankrupt they tore that anchor store down and built an open-air portion called the The Shops on Butterfield that opened in 2007. That is apparently where this event will be held.
