I'll have to listen to it a few more times... Initial listening, I hear a little rockabilly, a little Freddie Mercury and a Little Elvis....so not bad LOL
I wish the music was turned down a bit, so I can hear his lyrics, but sounds like he had a blast recording it though

And I agree, this path is more, 'consumable', yet still has the edge he wants.

Pretty good assessment, in only one day he did quite a lot with it. The "Christmaasss, Christmaasss, Christmaasss" parts remind me of the opening of Bohemian Rhapsody. The guitar and drum work sounds like hair metal meets punk rock. There's rockabilly in the melody and Elvis in James' phrasing. And as for vocals, I hear Freddy Mercy and Steven Tyler. Various rock n roll elements blended into a cohesive whole and it works. The production is superior to that of MOABD IMO. James Michael uses much less studio gloss than Howard Benson. I'm glad that Michael is producing James' new album.

Well acoustic is acoustic. James currently doesn't have a bassist and lead guitarist, James said he played bass on this song. I dunno who played which guitar parts.

Ah yes I see it, the "TCB" lightning bolt is new, an Elvis reference, "Taking Care of Business", hmm.

Dude seems to have a bit of an addiction, soon both his arms will be completely covered if he keeps going at this rate.

I like the "A Ba Dee" tattoo, he said it was Hunter's first word.

When I first saw it, I had to look up the meaning of TCB.

It made me think of, TCBY

"This Can't Be Yogurt" (which they changed to "The Country's Best Yogurt")


I think the letterforms "TCB" should be thicker and more masculine to show his serious intent to take care of business.

My first impression was "A Ba Dee" meant "a baddie."

Got a haircut today and one of the female stylists had colorful tattoos covering all of one arm and a rocking body. I couldn't make out the tattoos but she caught my attention every time she walked past the mirror.

really really awesome..

that band is insane and I've always felt Durbin really understood music but chose to go some different ways with his knowledge and artistry than I'd prefer. but

the rtyhyms and way his vocals and the two guitars, the bass and that awesome drummer just entirely "rocked" (that is truly rock to me) against each other was something.

I'd go drive to Santa Cruz to hear that band play once and see what else they've got!
