That is interesting. Since I've been following Haley, I've developed a deeper appreciation for the process of writing songs and performing them. I wish I had been exposed to such things when I was young and energetic enough to jump in with both feet.

Me too basically. The inspiration of Haley and the resources of the Internet rekindled my interest in music, including facets that I never delved into much.

One thing I found curious was the number of producers in and out of the studio with Haley. Back in the day it wasn't like that. The Beatles, for example, worked with George Martin for years. The Stones worked with Jimmy Miller on a number of albums.

Regarding the process of music making, in a series of videos George Martin (and Paul, Ringo, and George) talks about the development of the Sgt. Peppers album, which represented a radical departure from anything that came before it. I find it interesting.

In part four they talk about the role of the producer. George remarked that he started out as and organizer and eventually became a "realizer" (if John Wanted something really weird I had to try and provide it for him ...) Paul suggested he moved from deciding what was to be done to allowing them to do what they wanted.
