RE: "Listen Up!" - Reviews Thread
Figure8 found this very nice comment from Grady Smith from EW.com regarding Interscope's missed opportunity with Haley
http://music-mix.ew.com/2012/11/27/haley...can-learn/
Quote:I would argue that the jazzy Chicago native is the best singer to come out of the Idol machine since Jennifer Hudson (and when I say “singer,” I don’t mean a bellow-by-the-numbers diva like Jessica Sanchez — I’m talking about a powerhouse vocalist who still understands restraint and lyrical interpretation). And Listen Up! was one of the strongest post-Idol albums ever produced — a sexy, Motown-tinged retro-pop delight.
He just posted this, probably in regards to little twitter battles between anti and pro Haley Tweets since the split:
Quote: Grady Smith @EWGradySmith
People angry at Interscope about Haley Reinhart should remember that they DID pay for her to make a very good album.

Unsolicited praise is always nice, especially with some of the vile and unreasonably vindictive 'haters' that seemed to have popped up recently.
Then again, we've always known every person that has interviewed her, performed with her, worked with her or has given an 'honest ear' to her music has had the same reaction, that she is unique and talented and has a real future in music.
