If Haley could easily pull in that much for an appearance, she would be booking them left and right if she had any sense. It seems as though only the Idol and Lollapalooza appearances might have paid that well.

She's mostly done radio promotion gigs. As with her appearances on The View and 90210, I think Interscope paid a "promotional consideration" for those. She had the full band at the TouchTunes gig, but that might have been part of the deal with Interscope to place "Free" was placed on their jukebox network.

I speculated there:

I don't think Haley is going to perform at this event, but perhaps they intend to rub shoulders with some of the industry's decision makers? i.e., possible label partners

I don't know-why would Keith have to be there if they're just gonna 'rub shoulders" and not perform-that doesn't make sense.And how is it that they're gonna be there in less than a week and Keith doesn't even know what its for.At any rate someone is paying to fly them across the country and put them up in NY so somebody must has some money somewhere.

I also doubt if they'd leave Vegas on December 8th and immediately fly to NYC and sit in a motel room for 4 days before the 12/12/12 event takes place. Must be for something else especially if Keith is involved.

I can't imagine why Haley's trip would have anything to do with the 12/12/12 event.That's a charity event-a benefit concert.That may be a big event for the media but its not a big event for the "industry".Its not the type of thing that you would go to to to "be seen".And besides-most of those media people are there all the time anyway-its New York City afterall.

Hard to say. If I were in Vegas and had to be in NYC in two days (wake up 9th in Vegas need to be in NYC 11th, night before event) I would chill in Vegas two days rather than go home and make another flight. Vegas has direct flights to more places than anywhere.

But it is true much more going on than one event in NYC.

Idol itself could conceivably paying for the trip. Even if they aren't hoping to make any money from her record sales 7 or 8 seconds of TV exposure of her in a crowd or plaing at a small street event with a sub title: Season 9 American Idol finalist is good publicity. If it only costs the show 5k$ or something that can be very very cheap public exposure... if she got a 5 or 6 seconds in front of a mic giving a positive message about the show on the street (like the Mariah Carrey will be a great judge stuff) on something BIG like the morning show that is Extremely valuable publicity for Idol... keeping their name in the public mind is priceless and a few thousand dollars is a minuscule drop in their expense bucket.

Miguel .. of course if she could get that money she'd be booking things left and right.. I'm not saying she's getting those offers and turning them down or that the hotel would book her over and over (well if they like it they might do it a couple times a year) at that rate. What I am saying is that they have budgets and they'd be willing to pay a little more to get a little more "buzz" and that they'd not expect to get musicians for free.

I agree that the Mall performances on the promotion tour were not really paid for by the malls.. maybe like you said , they'd get some small sort of payment from the mall (in addition to the mall footing the bill for stage set up, security etc) that didn't come close to covering travel expenses. I think that is a different animal than Las Vegas. That was more a matter of a label looking for promotion than a hotel looking for music.

At industry gatherings, companies sometimes have hospitality suites where they host guests.

19 Entertainment may do the same here. Or Fox International - they're one of the media partners behind the 12-12-12 concert and they flew Haley to Taiwan for an appearance.

Or, since this isn't a formal gathering, it's possible 19E has lined up an audition/meeting with an interested party.

I think Vegas is a paying gig. I don't think it pays well enough for the whole band to travel and that's why they're not.

I don't see a charity associated with that.

However, on December 10, the Bowery Ballroom site says it will be
