"Oh My" does seem like an odd choice to license because it's hard to imagine anyone doing the accentuated/elongated "oh my" as well as Haley. Perhaps that is why she seems to favor it - it's potentially a signature song.
Well.. (smile) .. Haley premiered Lady GaGa's release of "you and I" . Haley did outshine Lady Gaga on it though .. which I suppose is a risk LOL. Oh, in my book she did that to Rolling in the Deep too... I hadn't really actively heard it until Haley sung it and sales too a good leap higher with Haley's additional (incremental) exposure of it.
No sense holding back someone looking good singing one of your songs... especially if it is stuck in the "under-heard" situation as it is now.

I like your points about Oh My... that can really be a Haley Signature song in that it is so distinctly different.

... that song is more about Haley than the song.. other songs on the album that Haley helped write can be covered by far far more singers and have them sound at least decent doing it.. and the song would sound good.
I'm not really that fond of free either.. it can really fall into being grating and boring to me very easily. I certainly havn't enjoyed almost any of the covers fan covers (obviously from idol autditions more people think they can sing than actually can.. but sounds particularly rough with a mediocre voice) I did really like Haley's version done on that talk show (the vibe?) and other very similar accoustic version with just her and knotto . I think its core piano accompanyment (da da dum da da dum) that irritates me.
Undone could be beautiful by so many of the girls with great voices that are enevitably on the show .... while Haley brings more to it, a straightforward ballad/diva version would still sound fine.
Fast songs like hit the ground running can be high risk of elimination weeks so often... but, Hit the ground running does have some room to "run" with ... (things aren' always....) Tom, I agree with you too. I wish Undone was on that list. I know everyone loves Oh MY, and it does have a unique sound to it, but I personally like Undone more. It seems like lots of people are familiar with Undone from the movie this past summer, and by contestants on AI singing it, could help expose more fans to Haley. It would be good song for American Idol IMO!!

Hopefully we will cross paths when the time is right and I know it will feel great. She’s wonderful.”

Which had me investigating. I thought he was referring to an article at MJ's, but a google search came up with this thread at IDF, started yesterday under the heading:

Not sure how valid the listed is or what source....but according to it, In Round 3, apparently these two contestants will be performing "Undone":
Isabel Pasqualone - "Undone" by Haley Reinhart
Shelby Tweten - "Undone" by Haley Reinhart
Shelby entered last year as a 17 yr old. She suffers from being Bi Polar, and I believe Himm2 was behind her last year too
