And now, out of 30 songs...how many of Haley´s originals will they put in the final cut? How many originals has she written? At least 4... right Miguel?

She has co-writing credits on four songs that we know of. I learned the other day that if writing credits are in alphabetical order it usually means the writing credit is shared equally amongst the writers. If the credit isn't shared equally the main writer will be listed first.

More singers are becoming involved with the songwriting process so they can claim royalty money since they don't make as much from album sales as they used to.

Does anyone know if the record company's artist development departments assess their new artists for weaknesses and then sets their artists up with various classes depending upon their weaknesses. I wouldn't think that they would just throw their new artists out to the wolves to be eaten alive. Of course, it appears that Lana Del Rey was eaten alive on SNL or otherwise she is just a hopeless basket case.

I'm not sure. Lady Gaga had a creative director she personally hired to help her stage and theme her shows. With Lana Del Rey, the label has bragged about being "hands off," no doubt to add to her authenticity as an artist. Back in its heyday, Motown held classes to help their artists learn such things as table manners and proper speech. And I recall they told Diana Ross not to do something on TV because of the way it looked.

Not meant for review, the gig drew criticism from attending writers, tipped off by rogue tweets, who criticized her shaky delivery and live band of session musicians.

Gibson: In the beginning, it was just me teaching her. I listened to the music and the lyrics, where she breaths and I showed her how to use the microphone, how to look out into the crowd, how to stay in the zone. These are things she had to learn, but she was so fearless..

THR: Tell us about your creative director title at Interscope …

Gibson: Artist development is something that I've been passionate about from my days at Uptown and Motown Records. Back in the early days like for the Temptations, Supremes and Four Tops, artist development was alive in record companies. Every artist had a moment to develop the record visually. When the web took over and camera phones, it stripped the artists of the power to figure it out. So there's a need to bridge that gap and that’s my job. [And] I’m getting points, like A&R.

THR: Can you explain how the points deal came about?

Gibson: Because now that you can get records for free, it’s actually the visual producer that’s delivering the brand and maintaining the fanbase. It’s not just the album [artwork], it’s the concert and the entire experience. I basically worked for Gaga for free for a year because it was so much a part of me. It takes a lot. So that's why we did that deal.
